Premiering on Thursday, September 3 is the HBO Max original series Raised by Wolves created by Aaron Guzikowski and starring Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Winta McGrath, Matias Varela, Niamh Algar, Jordan Loughran, Felix Jamieson, Aasiya Shah, Ethan Hazzard, Ivy Wong and Travis Fimmel. The show’s original music is composed by Ben Frost (Dark, Sleeping Beauty, Super Dark Times, Fortitude) & Marc Streitenfeld (Prometheus, American Gangster, Robin Hood, Body of Lies). Also premiering on Thursday is the Netflix original film Love, Guaranteed directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Heather Graham and Damon Wayans Jr. Ryan Shore (Prime, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, The Shrine, Harvard Man, Numb, Headspace, Julie’s Greenroom) has composed the movie’s original music. Matti Bye (Everlasting Moments, The 101-Year-Old Man Who Skipped Out on the Bill and Disappeared, A Serious Game, One Last Deal, Faro) has composed the original music for the new Netflix original series Young Wallander. The show is developed by Ben Harris (Devils) based on Henning Mankell’s best-selling Kurt Wallander novels and stars Adam Pålsson, Richard Dillane, Leanne Best, Yasen Atour, Charles Mnene, Jacob Collins-Levy, Alan Emrys and Kiza Deen. The drama is set in contemporary Sweden and focuses on the formative experiences – professional and personal – faced by Kurt as a recently graduated police officer in his early twenties.  Read the rest of this entry »

Christina Aguilera’s ‘Reflection’ from Niki Caro’s ‘Mulan’ Released

Walt Disney Records has released the new version of the song Reflection from Disney’s live-action film adaptation of Mulan. The track, which was originally written by David Zippel and Matthew Wilder for the 1998 animated classic, is produced by the movie’s composer Harry Gregson-Williams and performed by Christina Aguilera. The track will also be featured on the official soundtrack album, which will be released on September 4 and also includes Gregson-Williams’ score, as well as Aguilera’s original song Loyal Brave True, which is already out now. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller The New Mutants directed by Josh Boone and starring Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga. The film’s original music is composed by (The X-Files, Millennium, La Femme Nikita, Crazy in Alabama, Smallville). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the comedy drama The Personal History of David Copperfield directed by and starring Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Ben Whishaw, Paul Whitehouse and Gwendoline Christie. Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, The Lion Guard, Mickey Mouse) has composed the film’s original music. MVKA has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened in the UK. Alexandre Desplat’s ‘Airlines’ Album Released

Warner Classics  has released the album Airlines by Academy Award-winning composer Alexandre Deplat. The album features unreleased recordings, including revisited versions of music from the composer’s films, including the Oscar-winning scores for The Shape of Water and The Grand Budapest Hotel, as well as Lust, Caution, Girl with a Pearl Earring and Birth. Also included are two original concert works.  The music is conducted by Desplat himself and is performed by flautist Emmanuel Pahud accompanied by the National Orchestra of France. Milan Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the Netflix animated film Over the Moon. The track, entitled Rocket to the Moon, is written by Christopher Curtis (Chaplin: The Musical), Marjorie Duffield & Helen Park (KPOP The Musical) and performed by Cathy Ang (as the movie’s lead character Fei Fei), and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. ‘Wild Wild West’ Deluxe Edition Score Album Announced

Varese Sarabande has announced a new deluxe edition soundtrack album for the 1999 western comedy Wild Wild West directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring Will Smith, Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh and Salma Hayek. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Elmer Bernstein (To Kill a Mockingbird, The Magnificent Seven, Ghostbusters, Airplane, The Age of Innocence, Far from Heaven), including over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as additional music by Peter Bernstein and alternate versions and music not used in the film. ‘Pets United’ Soundtrack Released

Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Pets United. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee David Newman (Anastasia, Ice Age, Serenity, The Flintstones, Galaxy Quest, The Nutty Professor, The War of the Roses). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Pets United is written and directed by Reinhard Klooss (who previously collaborated with Newman on his last features Animals United and Tarzan) and features the voices of Natalie Dormer, Eddie Marsan and Stephen Mangan. The Timeless Films production follows a street-smart dog and a pampered cat join forces to lead a pack of unlikely heroes when their city is seized by its evil mayor – and his robot army. ‘Endless’ Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande/Music.Film Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the romantic drama Endless. The album features the film’s original music composed by Todd Bryanton (The Tall Man, The Humanity Bureau, The Recall) and Nik Freitas (Christmas Trade). Also included is the original song Wish performed by Lily Kershaw who also co-wrote the track with Freitas. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 28 and will be available to stream/download here. Endless is directed by Scott Speer and stars Alexandra Shipp, Nicholas Hamilton, DeRon Horton and Famke Janssen.
