Howe Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Funny Boy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Aviator, Hugo, The Hobbit, Ed Wood, Mrs. Doubtfire). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 10 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Funny Boy is co-written and directed by Deepa Mehta and stars Brandon Ingram, Nimmi Harasgama, Ali Kazmi, Rehan Mudannayake, Agam Darshi, Shivantha Wijesinha, Arush Nand, Ruvin De Silva, Hidaayath Hazeer and Seema Biswas. The movie based on the best-selling Canadian novel of the same title by Shyam Selvadurai is set in Sri Lanka in the 1970’s and 80’s and explores the awakening of sexual identity by a young boy and chronicles his struggle to find balance and self-love despite the absence of empathy and understanding. World Premiere Recording of Bernard Herrmann’s ‘Endless Night’ Score Announced

Quartet Records has announced the world premiere recording of the previously unreleased score for the 1972 horror mystery drama Endless Night directed by Sidney Gilliat, based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same title and starring Hayley Mills, Britt Ekland, Hywel Bennett, Per Oscarsson and George Sanders. Reconstructed from the original manuscript by the film’s composer Bernard Herrmann (Psycho, Vertigo, Taxi Driver, Cape Fear, North by Northwest), the music is performed by the Basque National Orchestra and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The Impossible, Mama, A Monster Calls), with original Moog synthesizer sessions played by Toni Saigi. The movie is directed by Simon Stone (The Daughter) and stars Carey Mulligan, Ralph Fiennes, Lily James, Johnny Flynn, Ben Chaplin and Ken Stott. The drama is set in 1938 as World War II looms and follows a wealthy widow who hires an amateur archaeologist to excavate the burial mounds on her estate.
