Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the animated feature The Wild Robot written and directed by Chris Sanders and starring Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry, Ving Rhames and Mark Hamill. The film’s original score is composed by Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, King Richard, Haunted Mansion, Secret Invasion, The Color Purple, Dear White People, Mrs. America). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as two original songs co-written and performed by Maren Morris today. Also opening nationwide is the sci-fi epic Megalopolis written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Kathryn Hunter, Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Fishburne. Osvaldo Golijov (Youth Without Youth, The Man Who Cried, Twixt, The Oath) has composed the film’s original score. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, two original songs by Grace VanderWaal and several tracks by other artists today. Deutsche Grammophon has released a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series My Brilliant Friend. The album features the original music from the show’s fourth season composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Ad Astra, Mary Queen of Scots, Hostiles, Waltz with Bashir, Taboo, Miss Sloane), as well as several tracks from the composer’s Recomposed By Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons album and a cue from his score for the 2008 film Henry May Long. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Colin Stetson (Hereditary, The Menu, Color Out of Space, The First, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hold Your Breath).
