Bear McCreary to Score NBC’s ‘Constantine’
It was announced this evening at Comic-Con that Bear McCreary is scoring the upcoming NBC drama Constantine. The show is developed by Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist, Dexter) & David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises) and stars Matt Ryan, Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford. The drama is based on the comic book series Hellblazer from DC Comics and follows seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine who is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. Cerone and Goyer are also producing the project for Bonanza Productions and Warner Bros. Television. McCreary has previously collaborated with Goyer on the Starz original series Da Vinci’s Demons. Neil Marshall (The Descent, Centurion) has directed the pilot episode. Constantine is set to premiere on October 24, 2014 and will air every Friday night on NBC.
‘Penny Dreadful’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the first soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Penny Dreadful. The album features selections from the original score of the first season of the show composed, orchestrated and conducted by Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, Romeo & Juliet, W.E.). The soundtrack will be released on August 19, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Penny Dreadful is created by John Logan and stars Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Rory Kinnear, Reeve Carney, Harry Treadaway, Billie Piper and Danny Sapani. The series recently ended its first season run and will return for a second season in 2015 on Showtime.
‘Hannibal’ Season 1 Soundtracks Details
The details of the first two soundtrack albums for the psychological thriller series Hannibal have been revealed. The albums feature the music from the first season of the show composed by Brian Reitzell (30 Days of Night, Red Riding Hood, Boss). Since our last update, Lakeshore Records has announced that the albums will be released digitally on August 5, 2014 followed by a physical release. Trevor Rabin to Score Syfy’s ’12 Monkeys’ TV Series
Executive producer Terry Matalas has announced on Twitter that Trevor Rabin is composing the music for the upcoming Syfy original series 12 Monkeys. The show is based on the 1995 feature directed by Terry Gilliam and stars Aaron Standford, Amanda Schull, Noah Bean and Kirk Acevedo. The series follows a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race. Matalas is also executive producing the Universal Cable production with Travis Fickett (Nikita), Natalie Chaidez and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Richard Suckle (American Hustle, The International).

Premiering tonight is the new Lifetime original series The Lottery created by Timothy J. Sexton (Children of Men) and starring Marley Shelton, Michael Graziadei, David Alpay, Athena Karkanis, Yul Vasquez, Shelley Conn and Martin Donovan. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Just Friends, CSI: Miami, Step Up: All In). The Lottery is set 25 years in the future when the human race faces extinction and when women stop having children. When a number of fertilized embryos are discovered, a national lottery is setup to help decide the surrogates. The show will air every Sunday night on Lifetime. Lakeshore Records will release a number of soundtrack albums for the critically acclaimed NBC series Hannibal. The albums will feature the show’s original music composed by Brian Reitzell (30 Days of Night, Friday Night Lights, Stranger Than Fiction, Boss). Music from both seasons of the series will be featured on the albums, which are set to be released on September 2, 2014. ‘Dexter’ Season 8 Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack for the eighth seaon of the Showtime original series Dexter. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s final season composed by Daniel Licht who has been scoring the drama since the first season. Also included are two original songs produced by Licht and performed by Jon Licht and David Poe, as well as live tracks from the Dexter Live concert. Also featured is Rolfe Kent’s main titles theme and the song Make Your Own Kind of Music performed by Mama Cass. The soundtrack will be released on July 29, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released soundtracks for the previous seven seasons. The final season of Dexter is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
‘Bates Motel’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the first soundtrack release for the A&E original series Bates Motel. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Chris Bacon (Source Code, Smash!). The soundtrack will be released on August 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bates Motel is created by Carlton Cuse, Kerry Ehrin & Anthony Cipriano and stars Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, Nicola Peltz, Nestor Carbonell and Mike Vogel. The first season of the show about Norman Bates’ formative years is now available on Blu-ray and DVD and the second season premiered this spring on A&E.

The show’s original music is composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Person of Interest) who previously collaborated with del Toro on last year’s Pacific Rim.
