David Williams Scoring MTV’s ‘The Dorm’
David Williams has recently composed the score for the upcoming psychological thriller The Dorm. The film is directed by Rachel Talalay (Tank Girl, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare) and stars Alexis Knapp, Cassie Steele and Max Lloyd Jones. The movie follows a student who begins college as a shy, self-consciousness freshman and undergoes a complete transformation into a flawless, seductive beauty at the hands of her new dorm mates. Sean Hood (Halloween: Resurrection, Conan the Barbarian) has written the screenplay and Mike Frisley & Chad Oakes (Fargo) are producing the MTV and Sony Pictures production.
Michael Andrews to Score HBO’s ‘Togetherness’
Michael Andrews is composing the music for the upcoming HBO original series Togetherness. The show is created and executive produced by Mark & Jay Duplass and stars Amanda Peet, Melanie Lynskey, Mark Duplass and Steve Zissis. The comedy follows two couples living under the same Los Angeles roof and who are struggling in their relationships while dealing with their individual problems. Stephanie Langhoff is co-executive producing the project. Andrews has previously collaborated with the Duplass brothers on the features Cyrus and Jeff Who Lives at Home.
‘Hannibal’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details
The details of the two soundtrack albums for the second season of NBC’s Hannibal have been revealed. The albums feature selections from the original score of the show composed by Brian Reitzell (30 Days of Night, Boss, Stranger Than Fiction, Friday Night Lights). Both albums will be released digitally on September 2, 2014. The Season 2 – Volume 1 soundtrack is available for pre-order on Amazon and click here to pre-order the Season 2 – Volume 2 soundtrack. Audio clips from both albums are available after the jump. As previously reported, the label has just released the first two soundtracks for the show today. Hannibal created by Bryan Fuller and based on the characters by Thomas Harris stars Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen and Laurence Fishburne.
‘The Knick’ Soundtrack Announced
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Steven Soderbergh’s Cinemax original series The Knick. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Cliff Martinez (Drive, Spring Breakers, The Lincoln Lawyer) who has previously worked together with the director on such projects as Traffic, Solaris and Contagion. The soundtrack will be released on August 19, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Knick is directed by Soderbergh and star Clive Owen, Andre Holland, Juliet Rylance, Eve Hewson, Collin Meath and Michael Angarano. The drama follows the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff at the Knickerbocker Hospital in time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.

Premiering tomorrow, August 4, on FX is the new comedy Partners created by Robert L. Boyett & Robert Horn and starring Kelsey Grammer, Martin Lawrence, Telma Hopkins, Rory O’Malley, McKaley Miller, Edi Patterson and Danièle Watts. The show’s original music is composed by Bennett Salvay (Jeepers Creepers, Friday Night Lights, Providence). Partners follows two Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court as they each face a personal crisis. The comedy will air every Monday night on FX. Bear McCreary to Score BBC America’s ‘Intruders’
Bear McCreary has been tapped to score the upcoming BBC America original series Intruders. The show is created by Glen Morgan (Final Destination, The X-Files) and stars John Simm, Mira Sorvino, Tory Kittles, James Frain and Millie Brown. The drama is set in the Pacific Northwest and follows a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others. Morgan is also executive producing the project with Jane Tranter (Criminal Justice) & Julie Gardner (Doctor Who, Torchwood) and Rose Lam (The L Word). Tranter also serves as an executive producer on the McCreary-scored Starz series DaVinci’s Demons. Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project, Exists) and Daniel Stamm (13 Sins) have directed the first episodes of Intruders, which is set to premiere on August 23, 2014 and will air every Saturday on BBC America.
Bear McCreary’s ‘Outlander’ Main Title Theme to Be Released
Madison Gate Records will release the main titles theme for the new Starz original series Outlander. The track is composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) who is also composing the score for the series and features vocals by Raya Yarbrough. Outlander is created by Ronald D. Tyler Bates to Score DirecTV’s ‘Kingdom’
Tyler Bates revealed in a recent interview with We Are Movie Geeks that he is scoring the upcoming DirecTV original series Kingdom. The show is created by created by Byron Balasco and stars Frank Grillo, Nick Jonas, Jonathan Tucker, Joanna Going, Matt Lauria, Kiele Sanchez, Cynthia Stevenson, M.C. Gainey and Bryan Callen. The drama takes place in Venice, California and is set against the renegade subculture of mixed martial arts (MMA). Balscao is also executive producing the Endemol Studios production. Directors on the projects include Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) and Dennie Gordon (What a Girl Wants, New York Minute).
Michael Giacchino to Score ‘Toy Story That Time Forgot’
Michael Giacchino announced at Comic-Con this past week that he is set to score the upcoming holiday special Toy Story That Time Forgot. The Pixar production is directed by Steve Purcell (Brave) and features the voice talent of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Kristen Schaal, Kevin McKidd, Wallace Shawn, Timothy Dalton, Don Rickles and Joan Cusack. The animated special is set during a post-Christmas play date and follows the gang as they find themselves in uncharted territory when the coolest set of action figures ever turn out to be dangerously delusional. Galyn Susman is producing the project. Giacchino has previously composed the music for last year’s Toy Story of Terror and has scored numerous projects for Pixar, including Up, Ratatouille, The Incredibles and Cars 2.
