James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Maleficent, The Sixth Sense, Signs) has revealed in a recent interview in the latest episode of Score: The Podcast that he is attached to compose music for Lucasfilm’s upcoming Disney+ original series Willow. The show is developed by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story, In the Land of Women) & Wendy Mericle (Arrow) and stars Warwick Davis who returns in the title role, alongside Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Ruby Cruz and Amer Chadha-Patel. The fantasy drama is based on the 1988 feature (produced and written by George Lucas, directed by Ron Howard and scored by James Horner) and will take place years after the events of the film.

Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’ Released
TMS Music has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix anime series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Yugo Kanno (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Batman Ninja, Psycho Pass, Ajin). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. A CD version is also being released in Japan today and will be available to order as an import in the U.S. on Amazon. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and features the voices of Nick Apostolides, Stephanie Panisello, Ray Chase, Jona Xiao, Billy Kametz, Joe J. Thomas, Doug Stone and Brad Venable. The series produced and supervised by Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobaya takes place after the horrors of Raccoon City and follows Leon and Claire as they find themselves consumed by a dark conspiracy when a viral attack ravages the White House.
Kate Nash’s ‘Say Hello to Your Friends’ Cover from Netflix’s ‘The Baby-Sitter’s Club’ Released
Maisie Music Publishing has released a new cover version of the song Say Hello to Your Friend from the Netflix original series The Baby-Sitter’s Club. The track (originally written by Glen Roven as the theme song for the 90s series of the same title) is performed by Kate Nash and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Soundtrack Album for Comedy Central’s ‘Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens’ to Be Released
Viacom International will release the first soundtrack album for the Comedy Central original series Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Grammy Award-nominated DJ and record producer TOKiMONSTA. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 8 and will be available to stream/download here. Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens is created by Awkwafina & Teresa Hsia and stars Awkwafina herself, BD Wong and Lori Tan Chinn. The comedy is inspired by Awkwafina’s real-life growing up in Queens, NY and follows a woman who leans on her family as she navigates life and young adulthood in outer borough-NYC.
Netflix’s ‘On the Verge’ to Feature Music by Michael Penn
Michael Penn (Girls, Boogie Nights, Sunshine Cleaning, Masters of Sex, The Last Kiss) has recently scored the new Netflix original series On the Verge. The show is created by Julie Delpy (2 Days in Paris, Before Sunrise) and stars herself, Elisabeth Shue, Sarah Jones, Alexia Landeau, Mathieu Demy, Troy Garity, Timm Sharp and Giovanni Ribisi. The comedy drama revolves around four women – a chef, a single mom, an heiress and a job seeker – as they dig into love and work in pre-pandemic LA. Delp is also executive producing the project with Michael Gentile and Lauraine Heftler. On the Verge is premiering today on Netflix.
Marty Beller Scoring Showtime’s ‘American Rust’
Marty Beller (Korengal, Another Gay Movie, Gypsy 83) is the composer of the new Showtime original series American Rust. The show is created by Dan Futterman (Foxcatcher, Capote) based on Philipp Meyer’s debut novel of the same title and stars Jeff Daniels, Maura Tierney, Bill Camp, David Alvarez, Alex Neustaedter, Julia Mayorga, Mark Pellegrino and Rob Yang. The drama tells the story of the chief of police of a Pennsylvania Rust Belt town who must decide what lengths he is willing to take to protect the son of the woman he loves when news of a murder rips through the town.

Premiering in the U.S. today is the British series Guilt created by Neil Forsyth and starring Mark Bonnar, Jamie Sives, Ruth Bradley, Emun Elliott, Sian Brooke, Moyo Akandé, Ellie Haddington and Bill Paterson. The show’s original music is composed by Arthur Sharpe (The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, Ghosts). The thriller, which follows two brothers who are hiding their guilt after running into an elderly pedestrian during an inebriated drive home from a wedding, premiered in the UK in 2019 on BBC Two and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Tuesday, September 7, is the FX limited series American Crime Story: Impeachment developed by Sarah Burgess and starring Sarah Paulson, Beanie Feldstein, Margo Martindale, Annaleigh Ashford, Clive Owen, Judith Light, Billy Eichner and Edie Falco. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Politician, Scream Queens) who previously scored the first two American Crime Story installments (The People v. O.J. Simpson & The Assassination of Gianni Versace) is composing the show’s original music. The new season, which examines the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century, will premiere on FX and will also be available to stream on FX on Hulu.
‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ Season 4 & 5 Soundtrack Albums Details
WaterTower Music will release two new soundtrack albums for the CW drama DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The albums feature selections of the original music from the show’s fourth and fifth season composed by Blake Neely (The Flight Attendant, The Flash, Arrow, Riverdale, The Pacific, Everwood) & Daniel James Chan (Supergirl, Emergence). Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown, The Tomorrow War) has recently been scoring the upcoming Amazon original series The Wheel of Time. The show is developed by Rafe Judkins and stars Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford,Madeleine Madden, Barney Harris, Zoë Robins, Daniel Henney, Hammed Animashaun, Álvaro Morte, Johann Myers, Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier and Emmanuel Imani . The fantasy drama based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy epic of the same title follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers, where she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young villagers.
‘What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?’ Soundtrack Album Details
The full details of the fourth soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ animated series What If…? have been revealed. The album features the original score from the fourth episode (What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?) of the show composed by Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, Why We Hate, Underground, Set It Up, Black Nativity, Paris Can Wait). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 3 by Marvel Music & Hollywood Records (click here to stream/download). The composer’s scores from Episode 1, Episode 2 and Episode 3 have been released last month and more soundtracks will be coming out over the next couple of weeks. Episode 4 of What If…? is written by A.C. Bradley, directed by Bryan Andrews and explores what would happen if the events of 2016’s Doctor Strange feature occurred differently, with Christine Palmer dying rather than Stephen Strange losing the use of his hands.
