Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown, The Tomorrow War) has recently been scoring the upcoming Amazon original series The Wheel of Time. The show is developed by Rafe Judkins and stars Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford,Madeleine Madden, Barney Harris, Zoë Robins, Daniel Henney, Hammed Animashaun, Álvaro Morte, Johann Myers, Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier and Emmanuel Imani . The fantasy drama based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy epic of the same title follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers, where she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young villagers.Judkins is also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Rick Selvage & Larry Mondragon for Red Eagle Entertainment and Ted Field & Mike Weber (Beirut) for Radar Pictures, Darren Lemke (Goosebumps, Shrek Forever After), Marigo Kehoe (Outlander, Electric Dreams), as well as Uta Briesewitz who directed the first two episodes. David Buckley was originally attached to score the show, but left the project early in the process (Balfe was signed as the new composer by late 2020 when we first learned about his involvement). A soundtrack release featuring Balfe’s music is in the works and will be announced soon. The Wheel of Time will premiere on November 19, 2021 on Amazon Prime.
