Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Kubo and the Two Strings, Anna Karenina, Bumblebee, Darkest Hour, V for Vendetta) is attached to score the upcoming romantic drama Late In Summer. The film marks the directorial debut of novelist Talitha Stevenson and will star Emily Watson and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. The movie is set in rural Cornwall will chart a brief encounter between a lonely farmer’s wife and a Black American GI that leads to first love in middle life and an impossible choice. Stevenson also wrote the screenplay and Debbie Gray (Mrs. Lowry and Son, The More You Ignore Me) is producing the project.

Harry Greenberger’s ‘Here After’ to Feature Original Song by Debbie Harry, Theme by Angelo Badalamenti & Original Score by Joseph LoDuca
Vertical Entertainment announced today that Debbie Harry (of Blondie) has recorded the original song Mysteries of Life for the upcoming fantasy comedy Here After. Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks) has written the main theme and Joseph LoDuca (The Evil Dead, Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Spartacus: Blood and Sand) has composed the original score for the movie written and directed by Harry Greenberger and starring Christina Ricci, Nora Arnezeder, Jackie Cruz, Michael Rispoli and Andy Karl. The film revolves around a struggling actor who dies right after a bad breakup and finds himself in singles Purgatory where he must find his soul mate in order to cross over to the other side.
Morgan Kibby Scoring Eva Husson’s ‘Mothering Sunday’
Morgan Kibby (aka White Sea) (Grand Army, The Short History of the Long Road) has composed the original music for the upcoming British period drama Mothering Sunday. The film is directed Eva Husson and stars Odessa Young, Josh O’Connor, Olivia Colman, Colin Firth and Sope Dirisu. The movie is based on Graham Swift’s novel of the same title and revolves around a maid living in post-World War I England whp secretly plans to meet with the man she loves before he leaves to marry another woman. Alice Birch (Lady Macbeth, Normal People) wrote the screenplay. Elizabeth Karlsen (Carol, Their Finest) and Stephen Woolley (The Crying Game, Colette) are producing the project for Number 9.
Nathan Barr to Score Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’
Composer Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hollywood, Halston) is set to reteam with director Eli Roth on the upcoming film adaptation of the video game franchise Borderlands. The film starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, Ariana Greenblatt, Haley Bennett, Florian Munteanu and Édgar Ramírez follows a group called Vault Hunters who must travel to the distant planet of Pandora to retrieve an advance alien vault before it falls into the hands of the Atlas Corporation. Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II & III, Chernobyl) wrote the screenplay.
Christian Henson Scoring Jon Wright’s ‘Unwelcome’
Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double, Triangle, Black Death, Wild Bill, Tommy’s Honour, Chasing Liberty) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming British creature feature Unwelcome. The film is directed by Jon Wright (Tormented) and stars Hannah John-Kamen, Douglas Booth, Colm Meaney, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Chris Walley and Kristian Nairnas. The movie revolves around a couple who escape their urban nightmare to live in rural Ireland, only to discover malevolent, murderous goblins lurking in the ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. Wright also co-wrote the screenplay with Mark Stay. Piers Tempest (The Wife, Ordinary Love) and Peter Touche are producing the project.

Kris Bowers (Green Book, Bridgerton, Mrs. America, Dear White People, When They See Us, The United States vs. Billie Holiday) has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary All These Sons. The film is directed by Bing Liu (Minding the Gap, ) & Joshua Altman and revolves around two men who created community-based self-help programs in Chicago to offer mentorship and healing to young men likely to be either victims or perpetrators of gun violence. Liu and Altman are also producing the project with Zak Piper (Life Itself) and Kelsey Carr.
Alexandre Desplat to Score Rebecca Miller’s ‘She Came to Me’
Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla, The Queen) is set to score the upcoming romantic comedy She Came to Me. The film is written and directed by Rebecca Miller (Maggie’s Plan) and will star Anne Hathaway, Tahar Rahim, Marisa Tomei, Joanna Kulig and Matthew Broderick. The movie is set in New York and tells the multigenerational story of a composer suffering from writer’s block who rediscovers his passion after a one-night stand, a couple of gifted teenagers who fight to prove to the parents that their love is something that can last forever, and a woman for whom love arrives in the most unexpected places.
