The movie is based on the Gustav Moller’s Danish drama Den Skyldige and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Riley Keough, Byron Bowers, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Christina Vidal, Paul Dano, Ethan Hawke, David Castañeda, Adrian Martinez, Bill Burr, Beau Knapp and Edi Patterson. Lucy Railton and Yair Elazar Glotman have composed the original music for the upcoming horror thriller False Positive. The film is directed by John Lee (The Shivering Truth, Wonder Showzen) and stars Ilana Glazer, Justin Theroux, Gretchen Mol, Sophia Bush, Zainab Jah and Pierce Brosnan. The movie follows a couple who – after struggling with fertility – seem to have finally found their potential savior in the charming and world-renowned reproductive specialist, when cracks start to appear in the façade of normalcy. Lee and Glazer also co-wrote the screenplay. They are also producing the A24 production with Jonathan Wang (Swiss Army Man, The Death of Dick Long).

Austrlian singer/songwriter Isabella Manfredi (of the indie rock band The Preature) has made her film scoring debut on the new comedy Plan B. The film is directed by actress Natalie Morales and stars Kuhoo Verma, Victoria Moroles, Michael Provost, Mason Cook, Jacob Vargas, Jolly Abraham,Myha’la Herrold, Rachel Dratch, Timothy Grandaderos, Edi Patterspon, Moses Storm and Jay Chandrasekhar. The movie follows a straight-laced high school student who teams up with her slacker best friend to hunt down a Plan B pill after she has a regrettable first sexual encounter.
Netflix’s ‘Fear Street’ Trilogy to Feature Original Score by Marco Beltrami, Marcus Trumpp, Brandon Roberts & Anna Drubich
Marco Beltrami (Logan, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, World War Z, Ford v Ferrari, The Hurt Locker, The Wolverine) has teamed up with Marcus Trumpp (Love and Monsters, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death), Brandon Roberts (Chaos Walking, Motherland: Fort Salem, Underwater) & Anna Drubich (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) to score the upcoming Fear Street trilogy. Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Angry Birds Movie, The Smurfs, Beverly Hills Chihuahua) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming animated feature PAW Patrol: The Movie. The film based on Nickelodeon’s animated series of the same title is directed by Cal Brunker (Escape from Planet Earth) and features the voices of Beckett Hipkiss, Kingsley Marshall, Shayle Simons, Keegan Hedley,Lilly Bartlam & Ron Pard who reprise their characters from the show. Singer/songwriters Marlon Williams & Mark Perkins (aka Merk) are co-scoring the upcoming New Zealand comedy Juniper. The film is written and directed by Matthew J. Saville and stars Charlotte Rampling, Marton Csokas and George Ferrier. The movie revolves around a self-destructive teenager who gets suspended from school and whose life turns around when he is asked to look after his feisty alcoholic grandmother as a punishment. Desray Armstrong (Stray, Coming Home in the Dark) and Angela Littlejohn are producing the film, which marks both composers’ first feature film scoring assignment.

David Holmes has composed the original score for the upcoming HBO Max original movie No Sudden Move. The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brockovich, Contagion) and stars Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Julia Fox and Kieran Culkin. The crime thriller is set in 1954 Detroit and centers on a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal what they think is a simple document when their plan goes horribly wrong. Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) wrote the screenplay.
Christopher Young to Score Oliver Park’s ‘Abyzou’ & Erlingur Thoroddsen’s ‘The Piper’
Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3, The Hurricane, Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Shipping News, Drag Me to Hell) has revealed during a recent composer panel hosted by Dread Central that he is currently composing the music for the upcoming horror thriller Abyzou. The film is directed by Oliver Park and stars Nick Blood, Emm Wiseman, Allan Corduner, Paul Kaye, Daniel Ben Zenou and Jodie Jacobs. The film is set in a Hasidic community and follows a family struggling with unresolved trauma which finds itself at the mercy of an ancient demon bent on destroying them from the inside. Hank Hoffman wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself & Jonathan Yunger.
Rael Jones to Score Anthony Fabian’s ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’
Rael Jones (Harlots, My Cousin Rachel, Kids in Love, The Salisbury Poisonings) has been hired to score the upcoming British drama Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. The film is directed by Anthony Fabian (Louder Than Words, Skin) and stars Lesley Manville, Isabelle Huppert, Jason Isaacs, Lambert Wilson, Lucas Bravo and Alba Baptista. The movie is based on Paul Gallico’s novella and tells the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, and embarks on an adventure to Paris to get one of her own. Fabian also co-wrote the screenplay with Carroll Cartwright (What Maisie Knew) and Keith Thompson (The Sapphires, Introducing the Dwights), with additional writing by Olivia Hetreed (Girl with a Pearl Earring).
