Dragon’s Domain Records has announced The Don Davis Collection – Volume 2 featuring the world premiere release of two scores written by the composer of such films as The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Jurassic Park III, Bound & Behind Enemy Lines. The album includes Davis’ original demos for the 2001 slasher movie Valentine directed by Jamie Blanks and starring David Boreanaz, Denise Richards, Marley Shelton, Katherine Heigl, Jessica Capshaw & Jessica Cauffiel, as well as his music from the 1988 thriller Blackout directed by Doug Adams and starring Gail O’Grady and Carol Lynley. The limited edition CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (March 15, 2024)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the adventure drama Arthur the King directed by Simon Cellan Jones and starring Mark Wahlberg, Nathalie Emmanuel, Simu Liu, Juliet Rylance, Bear Grylls, Ali Suliman and Paul Guilfoyle. The film’s original music is composed by Kevin Matley (The Family Plan, Cocaine Cowboy, Path of the Panther, Daniel). Lionsgate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Nope, Bad Education, The Burial, Breaking, Landscape with Invisible Hand, Nightbooks, See You Yesterday) has composed the film’s original music. Soundtrack Album for Larry Fessenden’s ‘Blackout’ Released
Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the werewolf thriller Blackout. The album features the film’s original music composed by Will Bates (Dumb Money, Unbelievable, The Magicians, Immaculate, Away, The Path, I Origins, The Looming Tower, Bliss). Also included are songs by Still Rusty, Dinoboy, Tom Laverack & Mark Ellison and Robert O Leaver. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to a track from Bates’ score (Charley’s Theme) below. Blackout is written and directed by Larry Fessenden and stars Alex Hurt, Addison Timlin, Motell Gyn Foster, Ella Rae Peck, Joseph Castillo-Midyett, Rigo Garay, Michael Buscemi, John Speredakos, Joe Swanberg, James Le Gros, Kevin Corrigan and Barbara Crampton. The movie follows a painter, haunted by guilt, who becomes convinced that he is transforming at night and wreaking havoc in his small town.
Geoff Zanelli Scoring Sam Macaroni’s ‘Blackout’
Geoff Zanelli (Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Disturbia, The Intruder, Christopher Robin) is currently recording his score for the upcoming action thriller Blackout. The film is directed by Sam Macaroni (Guest House) and stars Josh Duhamel, Abbie Cornish, Nick Nolte and Omar Chaparro. The movie revolves around a man who wakes up in a Mexican hospital with no memory and – when he discovers who he is – finds himself fighting for his life as several warring cartel factions attack him, each looking for something he has stolen. Van B. Nguyen wrote the screenplay.
