The Null Corporation has released the third soundtrack album for the HBO original series Watchmen. The album features the original music from the final episodes of the show’s first season composed by Academy Award winners Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Waves). The Volume 3 soundtrack is now available to stream/download on iTunes/Apple Music and a vinyl edition will be available to order here. The label has previously released two soundtrack albums featuring the composers’s score over the last two months. Watchmen is developed by Damon Lindelof based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel and stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Andrew Howard, Tom Mison and Frances Fisher. Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Aloha, Manhattan, Dawson City: Frozen Time) has composed the original score for the upcoming drama Charm City Kings. The film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and stars Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Meek Mill, Will Catlett, Teyonah Parris, Donielle Tremaine Hansley and Kezii Curtis. The movie is based on the documentary 12 O’Clock Boys and follows a young who boy as he joins the Midnight Clique, the infamous Baltimore dirt bike riders who rule the summertime streets. Walt Disney Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Disney+ original Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The album features the original music from the seventh episode of the show composer by Academy Award winner Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther, Creed, Venom, Community, Fruitvale Station). The label has previously released soundtracks for the series’ first six chapters over the last couple of weeks. The movie revolves around two teenage girls in rural Pennsylvania who travel to New York City to seek out medical help after an unintended pregnancy. Magic Light Pictures has released a soundtrack album for the animated short The Snail and the Whale. The album features composed by René Aubry (The Gruffalo, The Bears’ Famous Invasion, The Highway Rat, Under the Bombs, Zog). The Snail and the Whale directed by Max Lang & Daniel Snaddon is based on a book by author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler and features the voices of Rob Brydon, Sally Hawkins & Cariad Lloyd, as well as Dame Diana Rigg as the narrator. Simon Franglen to Compose Music for James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ Sequels

Simon Franglen has been hired to write indigenous songs to be performed on screen by members of various Na’vi clans for James Cameron’s Avatar 2 & 3. The composer is also attached to score the first two sequels (which are being shot simultaneously) to the Academy Award-nominated 2009 film (scored by James Horner) will star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Dileep Rao and Matt Gerald who are reprising their roles from the original film. They are joined by Sigourney Weaver (in a new role) and new cast members Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Brendan Cowell, David Thewlis, Vin Diesel and CJ Jones. Silva Screen Records has announced the details of the second soundtrack album for the BBC/HBO series His Dark Materials. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Crown, Genius, Home, Terminator Genisys), performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and conducted by Matt Dunkley. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 20 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD version is set to come out in February of next year.
