The 3-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Spectacular Spectacular, as well as the band’s cover of Bee Gees’ How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. Anything is written and directed by Timothy McNeil and stars John Carroll Lynch, Maura Tierney and Matt Bomer. Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release of four original scores composed by Andrew Dickson (Vera Drake) for movies directed by Mike Leigh, including the composer’s music for the 1993 comedy Naked starring David Thewlis and for the Academy Award-nominated 1996 feature Secrets & Lies starring Timothy Spall, Brenda Blethyn & Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Also included are Dickon’s scores for Leigh’s 1983 TV movie Meantime and the 1988 comedy High Hopes, as well as an interview with Leigh as a bonus track. Composer Frank Ilfman is set to reteam with director Navot Papushado on action thriller Gunpowder Milkshake. The film starring Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Paul Giamatti, Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, Carla Gugino, Carla Adam Nagaitis and Ralph Ineson centers on a young woman and her estranged mother (both assassins) who must join forces on the run to take down a male-dominated crime syndicate they used to work for. Papushado also co-wrote the screenplay with Ehud Lavski. Andrew Rona (Non-Stop, Unknown) and Alex Heineman (The Commuter) are producing the StudioCanal and The Picture Company production. The film is directed by Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist, OSS 117) and stars Omar Sy, François Damiens and Bérénice Bejo. The movie follows a devoted single father who takes his daughter into “Storyland”, a fantasy film studio where their extraordinary fairytale adventures come to life. Universal Music/Copenhagen Records have released a soundtrack album for the Danish/Icelandic Valhalla. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jens Ole Wowk McCoy (Darkland, Warrior (Kriger)). The soundtrack is now available to strream/download on Amazon. Valhalla is directed by Fenar Ahmad and stars Roland Møller, Dulfi Al-Jabouri, Reza Forghani , Stine Fischer Christensen, Laura Jonsdottir, Salome R. Gunnarsdóttir, Asbjørn Krogh Nissen, Cecilia Loffredo and Saxo Moltke-Leth. The movie is based on the classic Nordic folk tales (previously adapted for Peter Madsen’s comic book series, which the 1986 animated feature of the same title was based on) and follows two kids who are taken by the gods Thor and Loki on a journey to Asgaard, where the four of them together save the universe from Ragnarok. Premiering on Thursday, December 19, is the mini-series A Christmas Carol written by Steven Knight based on Charles Dickens’ story and starring Guy Pearce, Andy Serkis, Stephen Graham, Charlotte Riley, Joe Alwyn, Vinette Robinson, Jason Flemyng and Kayvan Novak. Dustin O’Halloran & Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, The Art of Racing in the Rain) have composed the original music for the 3-parter. Premiering on Friday, December 20, is the Disney+ original movie Togo directed by Ericson Core and starring Willem Dafoe, Thorbjorn Harr and Michael Gaston.
