Wendy Wang (American Born Chinese, Clipped, How to Die Alone, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., Man Up) is the composer of the new Hulu original series Mid-Century Modern. The show is created by Max Mutchnick & David Kohan (Will & Grace) and stars Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham and Linda Lavin. The comedy follows three best friends – gay gentlemen of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother.

Hulu’s ‘Deli Boys’ to Feature Score by Wendy Wang and Theme by Abdullah Saeed
Wendy Wang (American Born Chinese, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., Clipped, Man Up) has provided the original score for Onyx Collective’s new Hulu original series Deli Boys. The show is created by Abdullah Saeed (who also composed the series’ theme song), developed by Jenni Konner (Girls, Welcome to Chippendales) & Nora Silver (Single Drunk Female) and stars Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan, Brian George and Alfie Fuller. The comedy follows a a pair of pampered Pakistani American brothers who lose everything when their father suddenly dies and are forced to reckon with their his secret life of crime as they attempt to take up his mantle in the underworld.

Soundtrack Album for FX’s ‘Clipped’ to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the FX limited series Clipped. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Wendy Wang (American Born Chinese, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., Man Up). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 21 and will be available to stream/download here. Clipped is created by Gina Welch and stars Laurence Fishburne, Jacki Weaver, Ed O’Neill, Kelly AuCoin, Cleopatra Coleman, Rich Sommers, Corbin Bernsen, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Harriet Sansom and Clifton Davis. The 6-part drama tells the behind the scenes story behind notorious NBA owner’s racist remarks, captured on a tape heard around the world, and its impact on an ensemble of characters striving to win against the backdrop of the most cursed team in the league.

Disney+ announced today that composer Wendy Wang and ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro have created and recorded a new version of the Doogie Howser, M.D. theme (written by Mike Post) for the upcoming Disney+ original series Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.. The streamer also released the opening titles sequence featuring the song, which can be checked out after the jump. Doogie Kamealoha, M.D is created by Kourtney Kang (How I Met Your Mother) and stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Jason Scott Lee, Matthew Sato, Wes Tian, Emma Meisel, Mapuana Makia and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. The coming-of-age dramedy follows a 16-year-old prodigy juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager who is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path.
