Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) is reteaming with director Tim Miller on Terminator: Dark Fate. The movie, which marks the sixth part in the series and is a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Blade) wrote the screenplay. James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar) who helmed the first two parts in the series (scored by Brad Fiedel) is producing the project with Skydance Media’s David Ellison & Dana Goldberg (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation).

Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action adventure Alita: Battle Angel directed by Robert Rodriguez, produced by James Cameron and starring Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein and Jackie Earle Haley. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice). Also opening wide is the slasher sequel Happy Death Day 2U directed by Christopher Landon and starring Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Phi Vu, Suraj Sharma and Ruby Modine. Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) to Score ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Movie
Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Black Mass, Divergent) confirmed in a new interview with Film Music Magazine that he is currently scoring the upcoming live-action/animated hybrid feature Sonic the Hedgehog. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler and stars Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Neal McDonough, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey. The movie is based on the Sega video game franchise and follows a small-town sheriff in the rural town of Green Hills who teams up with Sonic to help him escape from the government who is looking to capture him.
Dua Lipa’s ‘Swan Song’ from ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Released
Warner Music Group has released the original track Swan Song from the sci-fi action adventure Alita: Battle Angel. The song is performed by Dua Lipa who also co-wrote the track with the film’s composer Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL), Justin Tranter, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson, & Kennedi Lykken. Swan Song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Listen to the full song and watch the official music video after the jump. Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey & Rodney Rothman and starring Shameik Moore, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Liev Schreiber and Brian Tyree Henry. The film’s original score is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ocean’s 8). Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the film adaptation of Mortal Engines. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL). Sony Masterworks will release the official soundtrack album for the action adventure Tomb Raider. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Divergent, Black Mass, 300: Rise of an Empire). The soundtrack will be released on March 9, 2018. The CD version will be available for pre-order on Amazon within the next few days and the digital version can be orderer here. Tomb Raider is directed by Roar Uthaug and stars Alicia Vikander, Dominic West, Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu. The movie follows Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, as she must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared.
