Milan Records has released the first two tracks from the soundtrack for the Netflix original anime series exception. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the opening music and the track Oxygen written by the show’s composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Revenant, The Sheltering Sky, Little Buddha, Femme Fatale). Also listen to both tracks after the jump. exception is written by Hirotaka Adachi, directed by Yuzo Sato and follows the members of a scouting team who are sent to search for a planet suitable for terraforming after humanity is forced to move its population to another galaxy.

Ryuichi Sakamoto Scoring Netflix’s ‘exception’
Netflix has announced that Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, The Revenant, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Little Buddha, Snake Eyes) is contributing the original music to the streamer’s upcoming sci-fi horror anime series exception. The show is based on a story by Hirotaka Adachi and features the voices of Nolan North, Robbie Daymond, Ali Hillis, Eugene Byrd and Nadine Nicole in the English language version and Chikahiro Kobayashi, Takahiro Sakurai, Yuko Kaida, Takanori Hoshino and Atsumi Tanezaki in the Japanese version.

‘After Yang’ Soundtrack Album Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi drama After Yang. The album features the film’s original score composed by Aska Matsumiya (Bruised, Skate Kitchen, Betty, I’m Your Woman, Selah and the Spades, 37 Seconds), as well as an original theme written by Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, The Revenant, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Little Buddha). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 4 and will be available to stream/download here. After Yang is written and directed by Kogonada and stars Colin Farrell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Justin H. Min, Sarita Choudhury, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja, Clifton Collins Jr. and Haley Lu Richardson. The movie is based on Alexander Weinstein’s short story Saying Goodbye to Yang and tells the story of a father and daughter as they try to save the life of their robotic family member.

Also premiering on Wednesday is the Netflix original film The Kissing Booth 3 directed by Vince Marcello and starring Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Molly Ringwald, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young and Stephen Jennings. Patrick Kirst (Inherit the Viper, Breaking Surface, Grace Stirs Up Success, Convergence) who previously scored the first two installments has composed the movie’s original music. The romantic comedy, which follows Elle as she plans the ultimate bucket list to make the most of her final summer before college, will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
‘Beckett’ Soundtrack Album Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller Beckett. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Revenant, Little Buddha, Snake Eyes). Also included is the original song Born to Be by Devonté Hynes. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 13 and is now available for pre-order here. A first track from Sakamoto’s score (End) is already available to stream/download now and can be checked out after the jump. Beckett is directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino and stars John David Washington, Boyd Holbrook, Alicia Vikander, Vicky Krieps, Lena Kitsopoulou, Panos Koronis and Maria Votti. The movie produced by Luca Guadagnino revolves around an American tourist who goes on the run in Greece after a tragic accident plunges him into a political conspiracy that makes him a target for assassination.

Sakamoto has contributed the film’s theme, which has been released as part of the composer’s vinyl box set 2020S earlier this year. Matsumiya has composed the score for the movie written and directed by Kogonada (Columbus) and starring Colin Farrell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Justin Min, Sarita Choudhury, Haley Lu Richardson and Clifton Jones, Jr.. The drama is based on the short story Saying Goodbye to Yang by Alexander Weinstein and tells the story of a father and daughter as they try to save the life of their robotic family member.
‘Minamata’ Soundtrack Album Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Minamata. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, The Revenant, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Little Buddha, Snake Eyes). Also included is the end credits song One Single Voice performed by Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins who also stars in the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 30 and is available for pre-order here. A vinyl edition coming out on the same date is also available to order on Amazon. Minamata is directed by Andrew Levitas and stars Johnny Depp, Hiroyuki Sanada, Minami, Bill Nighy, Ryo Kase,Jun Kunimura, Tadanobu Asano and Akiko Iwase. The movie follows celebrated war photographer W. Eugene Smith who has disconnected from the world but takes a final assignment from his Life Magazine editor and travels back to Japan to investigate the poisoning of the inhabitants of a fishing village called Minamata.
