Capitol Records has released the original song Fire on Fire from the BBC/Netflix animated mini-series Watership Down. The track is performed by Sam Smith who also co-wrote the track with Steve Mac. The song is now available to download on Amazon. Also check out the music video (helmed by the show’s director Noam Murro) after the jump. As previously reported, Decca Records is releasing a separate soundtrack album featuring the 4-parter’s score by Federico Jusid today. Watership Down starring James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Kingsley, John Boyega, Gemma Arterton, Tom Wilkinson, Miles Jupp, Freddie Fox, Olivia Colman and Anne-Marie Duff will premiere this Sunday, December 23 in the UK on BBC One and in the U.S. and other markets on Netflix.

Soundtrack Album for BBC’s & Netflix’s ‘Watership Down’ to Be Released
Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC/Netflix animated mini-series Watership Down. The album features the show’s original score composed and conducted by Federico Jusid (The Secret in Their Eyes, Kidnap, Life Itself, Neruda, Loving Pablo). Also included is the new song 10,000 Enemies by Emeli Sandé. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Bear McCreary Scoring McG’s ‘Rim of the World’
Screenwriter Zack Stentz has announced that Bear McCreary is the composer of the upcoming sci-fi adventure Rim of the World. The film is directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation) and stars Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., Alessio Scalzotto, King Bach (aka Andrew Bachelor), Tony Cavalero, Rudy Mancuso, Carl McDowell, Chris Wylde, David Theune, Punam Patel, Michael Beach, Jason Rogel, Lynn Collins and Annabeth Gish. The movie centers around four misfit teenagers who become unlikely allies when their summer camp experience is cut short by an alien invasion.

Premiering on Friday, December 21 in the U.S. is the British mini-series Vanity Fair developed by Gwyneth Hughes and starring Olivia Cooke, Tom Bateman, Suranne Jones, Michael Palin, Johnny Flynn and Martin Clunes. The show’s original music is composed by show’s original music composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, The Split, Vita and Virginia). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Afterhere, Jade Bird, Paloma Faith & others earlier this fall when the series premiered in the UK on ITV. Also premiering on Friday is DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix original series 3Below: Tales of Arcadia created by Guillermo del Toro and starring Diego Luna, Tatiana Maslany, Nick Offerman, Glenn Close, Cole Sand, Steven Yeun, Emile Hirsch and Kelsey Grammer. Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Boondock Saints, Storks, Tyrant) is composing the show’s original music. ‘Roma’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Sony Masterworks has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie Roma. The soundtrack is curated by director Alfonso Cuarón and soundtrack producers/music supervisors Lynn Fainchtein and Randall Poster and brings us back to the sonic Mexico of the 1970s, when the famous XEW, a reference of Mexican radio, transmitted English pop and rock, while gradually introducing the new Mexican pop, through performers like José José, Juan Gabriel, and Rigo Tovar, musical icons that in the present, have remained as references of Mexican and Latin American music. Roma is written and directed by Cuaron and stars Yalitza Aparicio, Marina de Tavira, Marco Graf, Daniela Demesa, Enoc Leaño and Daniel Valtierra. The film’s original music is composed by Jeff Garber (Lopez, Are You the One?). The holiday comedy centers on a bartender and a businesswoman who find they only have one thing in common: insomnia. Premiering on Friday, December 14 is the Australian Netflix original series Tidelands created by Stephen M. Irwin & Leigh McGrath and starring Charlotte Best, Elsa Pataky and Marco Pigossi. The show’s original music is composed by Matteo Zingales (99 Homes, Fahrenheit 451, The Hunter). The drama revolves around an ex-con’s return to her hometown of Orphelin Bay that blows the lid off a generations-long conspiracy of silence around murder, drugs and Sirens. The show’s full first season will be available to stream worldwide exclusively on Netflix.
‘Travelers’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced
Lakeshore Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the sci-fi drama Travelers. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Adam Lastiwka. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, December 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. In addition, Lastiwka will release a streamable 27-minute continuous mix of music from season one. The track, which will consist of every piece of music from season one, episode three, as a continuous cue, will be available on Bandcamp through Lakeshore Records on December 14.The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the first season. Travelers is created by Brad Wright and stars Eric McCormack, MacKenzie Porter, Nesta Cooper, Jared Abrahamson, Reilly Dolman and Patrick Gilmore.

Premiering tonight is the Syfy original series Nightflyers developed by Jeff Buhler based on George R.R. Martin’s novella and the 1987 film of the same name and starring Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Brian F. O’Byrne and Gretchen Mol. The show’s original music is composed by Will Bates (The Path, The Looming Tower, I Origins, The Magicians). Bryce Dessner Scoring Fernando Meirelles’ ‘The Pope’
Last week, Bryce Dessner has recorded his score for the upcoming Netflix original movie The Pope. The film is directed by Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardener, City of God, Blindness) and stars Anthony Hopkins as Pope Benedict and Jonathan Pryce as Pope Francis, as well as Juan Minujín, Cristina Banegas and María Ucedo. The drama explores the relationship and opposing visions between two of the most powerful leaders in the Catholic Church, both of whom must address their own pasts and the demands of the modern world in order to move the church forward. Anthony McCarten (The Theory of Everything, Darkest Hour) wrote the screenplay.
Dan Romer Scoring Netflix’s ‘The Innocent Man’
Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Maniac) has recently scored the new Netflix docu-series The Innocent Man. The show directed by Clay Tweel is based on the best-selling non-fiction book of the same title by John Grisham (The Firm, The Pelican Brief) and focuses on two murders that shook the small town of Ada, Oklahoma, in the 1980s – and the controversial chain of events that followed. The series features interviews with victims’ friends and families, Ada residents, attorneys, journalists, and others involved in the case.
