Premiering on Friday, December 21 in the U.S. is the British mini-series Vanity Fair developed by Gwyneth Hughes and starring Olivia Cooke, Tom Bateman, Suranne Jones, Michael Palin, Johnny Flynn and Martin Clunes. The show’s original music is composed by show’s original music composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge (FleabagThe SplitVita and Virginia). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Afterhere, Jade Bird, Paloma Faith & others earlier this fall when the series premiered in the UK on ITV. Also premiering on Friday is DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix original series 3Below: Tales of Arcadia created by Guillermo del Toro and starring Diego Luna, Tatiana Maslany, Nick Offerman, Glenn Close, Cole Sand, Steven Yeun, Emile Hirsch and Kelsey Grammer. Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Boondock SaintsStorksTyrant) is composing the show’s original music. Another show premiering stateside on Friday is the German series Perfume (Parfum) directed by Philipp Kadelbach based on Patrick Suskind’s novel Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and starring Friederike Becht, August Diehl and Wotan Wilke Möhring. The show’s original music is composed by Fabian Römer & Michael Kadelbach. Konigskinder has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score last month when the series premiered in Germany. Also premiering on Friday is the Showtime documentary American Dream/American Knightmare directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film centers on the life and storied exploits of the Death Row Records co-founder, Suge Knight, as well as the volatile and highly influential era in music that he presided over.
