Wendy Melvoin and Jeff Russo are scoring the new NBC drama Shades of Blue. The show is created by Adi Hasak (3 Days to Kill, From Paris with Love) and stars Jennifer Lopez, Ray Liotta, Drea de Matteo, Warren Kole, Dayo Okeniyi, Vincent Laresca, Hampton Fluker and Sarah Jeffery. The series follows a female NYPD detective-turned-informant who must carefully straddle the line between work and family. Hasak and Lopez are also executive producing the Universal Television production with Jack Orman (ER), Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas (Maid in Manhattan, Mona Lisa Smile), Benny Medina (The Fosters), Ryan Seacrest and Nina Wass. Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Sleepers) has directed the first two episodes.

‘Hannibal’ Season 3 Soundtracks Announced
Lakeshore Records will release two soundtrack albums for the NBC and Gaumont Television series Hannibal. The albums feature selections of the original music from the show’s third and final season composed by Brian Reitzell (Lost in Translation, Friday Night Lights, Boss, Stranger Than Fiction). Also included are the original songs Love Crime from the Wrath of the Lamb feat. Siouxsie Sioux and Snake Charmer feat. Marc Almond. The soundtracks will be released digitally on December 11, 2015 and physically in early 2016. Premiering on Thursday, December 10, is the NBC movie Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors directed by Stephen Herek (Mr. Holland’s Opus, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) and starring Jennifer Nettles, Ricky Schroder, Gerald McRaney and Alyvia Alyn Lin. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Leggett (My Name is Earl, Anne Frank’s Holocaust) and Velton Ray Bunch (Quantum Leap, Star Trek: Enterprise) who previously collaborated on the theme for the NBC drama The Pretender. The movie is set in the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains in 1955 and tells the story of the incidents in Dolly Parton’s and her family’s life around the time she was nine years old. Premiering on Friday, December 11, is the Netflix original movie The Ridiculous 6 directed by Frank Coraci and starring Adam Sandler, Taylor Lautner, Nick Nolte, Will Forte, Rob Schneider, Terry Crews, Blake Shelton, Whitney Cummings, Steve Buscemi, Luke Wilson, Steve Zahn, Jorge Garcia, Danny Trejo, Chris Parnell, Nick Swardson and Jon Lovitz. Rupert Gregson-Williams (Click, Bee Movie, Veep, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Bedtime Stories) and Elmo Weber has composed the film’s original music. The comedy western follows an outlaw who was raised by Native Americans and, alongside his five brothers, goes on a mission to find their wayward, deadbeat dad. Premiering tomorrow, November 30, is the new NBC comedy Superstore created by Justin Spitzer and starring America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Mark McKinney, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nichole Bloom and Nico Santos. The show’s original music is composed by Mateo Messina (Juno, Casual, Butter, Truth Be Told, Growing Up Fisher). Superstore revolves around a unique family of employees at a super-sized mega store. ‘The Wiz LIVE!’ Soundtrack Details
Masterworks/Broadway Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC television event The Wiz LIVE!. The album features the songs performed by the TV special’s cast, led by Shanice Williams, as well as Queen Latifah (The Wiz), Mary J. Blige (Evillene), David Alan Grier (Cowardly Lion), Ne-Yo (Tin Man), Elijah Kelley (Scarecrow), Uzo Aduba (Glinda), Amber Riley (Addaperle), Common (Bouncer) and Stephanie Mills (Auntie Em). The soundtrack will be released physically on December 18, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Wiz LIVE! is an adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same title and is executive produced by Craig Zadan & Neil Meron (Chicago, Hairspray), directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun, Fences) and choreographed by Fatima Robinson (Dreamgirls).

NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’ to Feature Music by Atli Orvarsson
Atli Orvarsson is scoring the new NBC drama Chicago Med. The show is created by Michael Brandt & Derek Haas (Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma) and stars Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell, Torrey DeVitto and Rachel DiPillo. The series marks the third entry in the Chicago franchise following Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D., which Orvarsson is also scoring, and centers on the day-to-day chaos of the city’s newest state-of-the-art trauma center and the lives of its doctors, nurses and staff.
John Debney to Score NBC’s ‘Game of Silence’
John Debney is composing the music for the upcoming NBC drama Game of Silence. The show is created by David Hudgins (Parenthood, Friday Night Lights) and stars David Lyons, Michael Raymond-James, Larenz Tate, Bre Blair, Conor O’Farrell Deidrie Henry, Demetrius Grosse and Claire van der Boom. The series follows a successful Atlanta attorney whose long-lost childhood friends unexpectedly reappear after 25 years and threaten to expose a dark, violent secret from their past. Hudgins is also producing the Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television production with Carol Mendelsohn (CSI, CSI: Miami), Julie Weitz, Timur Savci, Tariq Jalil and Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Dead Man Down) who also directed the pilot episode.
