Mateo Messina is composing the music for the new Hulu original series Casual. The show is created by Zander Lehmann and stars Tommy Dewey, Michaela Watkins and Tara Lynn Barr. The series centers on a dysfunctional family with a bachelor brother and his newly divorced sister who coach each other through the world of dating while living under the same roof again and raising a teenager. Jason Reitman has directed the first episodes and is also executive producing the Lionsgate Television production with Lehmann, Helen Estabrook (Whiplash, Men, Women & Children) and Liz Tigelaar.

Dominic Lewis to Score NBC’s ‘The Player’
Dominic Lewis has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama The Player. The show is created by John Rogers (Leverage, The Librarians) & John Fox (The Blacklist) and stars Wesley Snipes, Charity Wakefield, Philip Winchester and Damon Gupton. The series follows a pit boss and the dealer for a high-stakes game where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on the ability of a former military operative turned security expert to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. Rogers and Fox are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with John Zinman & Patrick Massett (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) and John Davis (I, Robot, The Firm).

Premiering on Monday, August 3, is the new comedy Significant Mother created by Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith and starring Josh Zuckerman, Krista Allen, Nathaniel Buzolic, Jonathan Silverman, Emma Fitzpatrick, Jay Ali. The show’s original music is composed by Brian H. Kim (Hello My Name is Doris, Star vs. The Forces of Evil). Significant Mother follows a Portland restaurateur whose world is turned upside down when he comes back from a business trip to find out that his best friend and roommate is now dating his newly single mother. ‘The Blacklist’ Soundtrack Announced
Madison Gate Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC hit series The Blacklist. The album features songs from the show by such artists as Alice Russell, Radical Face, Dolly Parton, Timbre Timbre, Emika, Peter Schilling, Bobby Darin, Matt Corby, Hozier and more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 21, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio samples after the jump. The Blacklist is created by Jon Blokenkamp and stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Harry Lennix and Parminder Nagra.
‘The Slap’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC event series The Slap. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Jon Ehrlich and Jason Derlatka (Parenthood, House, M.D., About a Boy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 24, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. A CD version is planned for later this year. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next few weeks. The Slap is directed by Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right) and stars Peter Saarsgard, Thandie Newton, Uma Thurman, Zachary Quinto, Melissa George, Thomas Sadoski and Brian Cox. The series is based on the book by Christos Tsiolkas and centers on a once happy family that suddenly begins to fall apart following a seemingly minor incident in which a man slaps another couple’s misbehaving child.
Wendy & Lisa to Return for NBC’s ‘Heroes Reborn’
Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman are returning to provide the original music for the NBC event series Heroes Reborn. The show is created by Tim Kring and stars Zachary Levi, Judith Shekoni, Masi Oka, Jack Coleman, Henry Zebrowski, Robbie Kay, Ryan Guzman, Greg Grunberg, Gatlin Green, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Rya Kihlstedt, Kiki Sukezane and Danika Yarosh. The 13-episode series continues the story from the NBC hit series Heroes, which ran from 2006 to 2010 and follows the heroes who have gone into hiding after they are blamed for a terrorist attack in Texas.
Soundtrack for NBC’s ‘Aquarius’ Released
Universal Music has released a soundtrack album for the NBC drama Aquarius. The album features the songs from the show by artists including The Who, Charles Manson, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Wayne Newton, Dyke and the Blazers & more. Also included is a track from the series’ original score composed by W.G. Snuffy Walden (The West Wing, Friday Night Lights, Under the Dome). The soundtrack is now available on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Aquarius is created by John McNamara and stars David Duchovny, Gethin Anthony, Grey Damon, Emma Dumont and Claire Holt. The event series takes place in the 1960s and follows a cop who goes undercover to track Charles Manson and the Manson Family before their infamous murder spree.
Blake Neely to Score CBS’ ‘Blindspot’
Blake Neely has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama Blindspot. The show is created by Martin Gero (Stargate: Atlantis, Bored to Death) and stars Jaimie Alexander, Sullivan Stapleton, Audrey Esparza, Rob Brown, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Ukweli Roach and Ashley Johnson. The series centers around a beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, who is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Greg Berlanti (Everwood, Brothers and Sisters, Life As We Know It) is producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Sarah Schechter (The Flash, The Mysteries of Laura) and Gero.

Premiering tomorrow, May 25, is the History mini-series Texas Rising directed by Roland Joffe and starring Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Olivier Martinez, Thomas Jane, Crispin Glover and Jeremy Davies. The show’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2) and Bruce Broughton (Silverado, Tombstone). Universal Music Group Nashville has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the original song Take Me To Texas written by Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark, as well as a cover version of Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down performed by Kris Kristofferson and the original piece Igual Que Yo performed by guitarist José Feliciano earlier this week. Also making its U.S. premiere on Memorial Day is the drama Grace of Monaco directed by Olivier Dahan and starring Nicole Kidman, Tim Roth, Frank Langella, Paz Vega, Parker Posey, Derek Jacobi and Milo Ventimiglia. Christopher Gunning (La Vie En Rose) has composed the film’s original score and Guillaume Roussel (3 Days to Kill) has contributed additional music. Hamburger Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music, as well as classical pieces by Erik Satie, Jean Sibelius and more last year.
