Natalie Holt (Loki, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Princess, Journey’s End, Knightfall, Beecham House, Herself, Press) has been tapped to score the upcoming Hulu original series Chad Powers. The show is created by Glen Powell & Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Heels) and stars Powell himself, Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Wynn Everett and Steve Zahn. The comedy is based on the sketch produced by NFL Films & Omaha Productions that aired on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series and follows a hotshot quarterback who – after his college career derails – disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.

Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the British Disney+/Hulu original series Rivals The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Natalie Holt (Loki, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Knightfall, Journey’s End, The Princess, Herself, Beecham House, Press) and Jack Halama (Who Is Erin Carter?, Traces, The Beast Within, Kindred, Rogue) . The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Rivals is developed by Dominic Treadwell-Collins & Laura Wade based on the novel of the same name by Dame Jilly Cooper and stars Alex Hassell, David Tennant, Aidan Turner, Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson, Danny Dyer, Nafessa Williams, Victoria Smurfit and Emily Atack. The 8-parter is set against the backdrop of the drama, excess, and antics of the power-grabbing social elite of 1980s England and explores the ruthless world of independent television in 1986.
Jerskin Fendrix Named Film Composer of the Year at World Soundtrack Awards
Jerskin Fendrix was named Film Composer of the Year at the 24th World Soundtrack Awards, tonight’s closing event of the 51st Ghent Film Festival, for his scores for Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things (for which he also received an Academy Award nomination earlier this year) and Kinds of Kindness. He was also the winner in the Discovery of the Year category. Natalie Holt was honored as TV Composer of the Year today for her score for the second season of Marvel’s Disney+ series Loki. She has previously been nominated twice in the category and also received a Discovery nomination in 2021. Billie Eislish and Finneas O’Connell won the award in the Original Song category for What Was I Made For? from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, for which they also received an Academy Award this year.

Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, October 17, is the British sci-fi series Midwich Cuckoos: Village of the Damned developed by David Farr based on John Wyndham’s classic novel of the same title and starring Keeley Hawes, Max Beesley, Synnøve Karlsen, Samuel West, Cherrelle Skeete, Lara Rossi, Aisling Loftus, Ukweli Roach, Rebekah Staton, Lewis Reeves and Anneika Rose. The show’s original music is composed by Hannah Peel (Rogue Agent, Scoop, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, Insomnia, The Deceived). Invada Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score when the sci-fi drama premiered in the UK on Sky in 2022. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music platforms. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the first three episodes of the new season last month, as well as two albums featuring her music from Season 1 back in 2021. Loki is created by Michael Waldron and stars Tom Hiddleston, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia Di Martino, Jonathan Majors, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ke Huy Quan, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice and Owen Wilson.

Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu original film The Princess. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Natalie Holt (Loki, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Journey’s End, Knightfall, Herself, Fever Dream, Victoria, Beecham House). Also included is Bukola’s cover of Billy Idol’s White Wedding arranged and co-produced by Holt. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 15 and will be available to stream/download here. The Princess is directed by Le-Van Kiet and stars Joey King, Dominic Cooper, Olga Kurylenko and Veronica Ng. The 20th Century Studios production tells the story of a strong-willed princess who is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle after she refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed.
