Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Wednesday is the monster movie Godzilla vs. Kong directed by Adam Wingard and starring Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Kyle Chandler, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González and Demian Bichir. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the movie last Friday. Opening exclusively in theaters nationwide today is the supernatural horror thriller The Unholy written and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos and starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Katie Aselton, William Sadler, Cricket Brown, Diogo Morgado and Cary Elwes. Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious, Annabelle, Dark Skies, The Curse of La Llorona) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is expected to be released by Sony Classical soon. Soundtrack Album for ‘Lost Platoon’ to Be Released

McJames Music will release the world premiere soundtrack album for the 1990 horror thriller Lost Platoon directed by David A. Prior and starring David Parry, William Knight, Stephen Quadros and Michael Wayne. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Mancina (Speed, Tarzan, Moana, Twister, Bad Boys, Con Air, Brother Bear), as well as a track by Steven McClintock. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The movie, which follows an American reporter covering a civil war in Nicaragua who discovers that four soldiers who he used to know during World War II are vampires fighting their own personal war against an evil Nicaraguan general, is now available on VOD.

Expanded ‘Twister’ Score Album Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1996 hit disaster movie Twister directed by Jan De Bont and starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The album features the expanded original score from the Amblin Entertainment production composed by Mark Mancina (Speed, Tarzan, Moana, Bad Boys, Brother Bear, Planes, Training Day), including previously unreleased music. The 20th Anniversary soundtrack is limited to 3000 copies and will be available to order on January 17, 2016 on the label’s official website.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Moana directed by Ron Clements & John Musker and featuring the voices of Auli’i Cravelho and Dwayne Johnson. The film’s original score is composed by Mark Mancina (Twister, Speed, Tarzan, Brother Bear, Planes). The composer also co-wrote the movie’s original songs with Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) and Opetaia Foa’i. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring score & songs in two different editions. Click here for the full album details. Also opening wide is the romantic thriller Allied directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard, Jared Harris, Lizzy Caplan, Simon McBurney, Daniel Betts, Camille Cottin, August Diehl and Matthew Goode. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers, Cast Away) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Moana’ Soundtrack Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for Disney’s animated feature Moana have been revealed. The album features the film’s original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina (Twister, Speed, Tarzan, Brother Bear, Bad Boys), as well as the movie’s original score composed by Mancina. The first song How Far I’ll Go by Alessia Cara will be released tomorrow. Moana is directed by Ron Clements & John Musker and features the voices of Auli’i Cravelho and Dwayne Johnson. Mark Mancina’s ‘The Haunted Mansion’ Score Released

Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score for Walt Disney Pictures’ 2003 feature The Haunted Mansion directed by Rob Minkoff and starring Eddie Murphy, Terence Stamp, Wallace Shawn, Marsha Thomason and Jennifer Tilly. The album features the film’s music composed by Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Speed, Brother Bear, Con Air, Bad Boys, Moana). The 2-CD set includes the complete score, as well as unused alternates and additional cues. Only one track from the composer’s score has previously been released and was featured on the original 2003 soundtrack album. The full musical team for Disney’s upcoming animated feature Moana was announced at this year’s D23 fan expo. As previously announced, Mark Mancina will be composing the score for the movie. The composer who previously scored the studio’s Tarzan, Brother Bear, as well as Planes and its sequel is collaborating with Te Vaka’s Opetaia Foa’I, a New Zealand guitarist, and Lin-Manuel Miranda who is best known for writing the Broadway musical In the Heights. Moana directed by John Musker & Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog) is set in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania and follows a spirited teenager who takes to the seas to find the long-lost island that can connect her to her ancestors.

Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Twister, Brother Bear, Speed) who previously scored last year’s original film has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as the original song Still I Fly performed by Spencer Lee and three songs by Brad Paisley. Also opening wide is the thriller sequel The Purge: Anarchy written and directed by James DeMonaco and starring Zach Gilford, Michael Williams, Kiele Sanchez, Frank Grillo and Carmen Ejogoro.
