Lucas Vidal has been hired to score the upcoming thriller Kidnapping Freddy Heineken. The film is directed by Daniel Alfredson (The Girl Who Played with Fire, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Jim Sturgess, Sam Worthington, Ryan Kwanten, Mark van Eeuwen and Tom Cocquerel. The movie chronicles the 1983 kidnapping of the grandson of the founder of the Heineken brewery and his driver who were released only after a ransom of 35 million Dutch guilders was paid. William Brookfield (Rough Magic, Close Your Eyes) has written the screenplay based on Peter R. de Vries’ bestselling book. Judy Cairo (Crazy Heart, Hysteria) and Michael A. Simpson are producing the project for Informant Media along with Howard Meltzer for Informant Europe.

‘The Quiet Ones’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller The Quiet Ones. The album features the film’s original score composed and performed by Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6, The Raven, The Cold Light of Day). Also included are the songs Cum On Feel The Noize by Slade and Telegram Sam by T.Rex, as well as three original Radio Caroline jingles from the 70s. The soundtrack will be released on April 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Quiet Ones is directed by John Pogue and stars Jared Harris, Sam Claflin, Erin Richards, Rory Fleck-Byrne and Olivia Cooke. The Hammer Films production follows a University professor who uses controversial methods and leads his students to take part in creating a Poltergeist from negative human energy. The soundtrack will be released nationwide on April 25, 2014 by Lionsgate.
Lucas Vidal to Score ‘Tracers’
Lucas Vidal has been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Tracers. The film is directed by Daniel Benmayor (Bruc, The Manhunt) and stars Taylor Lautner as a New York City bike messenger who is in debt to an organized crime gang and escapes into the world of parkour after meeting a beautiful stranger. Marie Avgeropoulos and Adam Rayner are co-starring. The movie’s screenplay is written by Leslie Bohem (Dante’s Peak, Daylight), Matt Johnson (Into the Blue), Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott. Mary Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (Twilight series, Dear John, Safe Haven) are producing the project for Temple Hill Entertainment.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the action sequel Fast & Furious 6 directed by Justin Lin and starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Luke Evans, Gina Carano and John Ortiz. Def Jam Recordings has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs featured in the film by artists including 2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa, T.I., deadmau5 feat. Cypress Hills and and Ludacris feat. Lucas Vidal Takes Over ‘Fast & Furious’ Series
Lucas Vidal is currently finishing up work on the highly anticipated action thriller Fast & Furious 6. The film is directed by Justin Lin who helmed the previous three installments in the series, including 2011’s top-grossing Fast Five. The movie stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Luke Evans, Gina Carano and John Ortiz. Vidal recently recorded his full orchestral and electronic hybrid score at Abbey Road and Air Studios in London. At age 28, he becomes the youngest composer to ever score a major studio picture in the $100 Mio.+ budget range. In only a few years, the classically trained composer has moved from writing concert pieces and scoring independent films, to Spanish box office hits including Sleep Tight (Mientras duermes) and major international productions such as The Raven starring John Cusack and The Cold Light of Day starring Henry Cavill & Bruce Willis, leading to his first major studio tentpole assignment.
Lucas Vidal to Score ‘Mindscape’
Lucas Vidal has been tapped to score the upcoming dramatic thriller Mindscape. The film marks the feature directorial debut of commercials director Jorge Dorado and stars Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Sherlock Holmes), Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) and Brian Cox (The Bourne Supremacy, Braveheart). The movie scripted by Guy Holmes centers on a man who can enter peoples’ memories and who takes on the case of a brilliant, troubled and dangerous teenage girl to determine whether she is a sociopath or a trauma victim. Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown, Orphan) and Juan Sola are producing for their Ombra Films production company, along with Peter Safran (Buried) for The Safran Company and Mercedes Gamero (Intruders) for Antena 3 Films.

Music and Motion Productions, co-owned by composer Lucas Vidal and his business partner Steve Dzialowski, has recently moved into its new studio facilities in Venice, California. The company’s studio complex, which was previously the home of Harry Gregson-Williams, located in walking distance from the beach, has been remodeled for the past two months and houses half a dozen composition rooms, as well as live recording and meeting spaces and a rooftop patio. Check out an exclusive video tour of the studio accompanied by an original music composition written by Vidal after the jump. The composer whose credits include such films as The Raven, The Cold Light of Day and the upcoming Hammer Films production The Quiet Ones is currently working on a major studio feature film project, which will be announced within the next couple of weeks.
‘Invader’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish thriller Invader (Invasor). The album features the film’s original score composed by Lucas Vidal (The Raven, The Cold Light of Day). Invader is directed by Daniel Calparsoro and stars Alberto Amman (Cell 211), Antonio de la Torre (The Last Circus) and Karra Elejalde (Biutiful). The movie is based on Fernando Maria’s novel Morena and Vaca and follows a doctor who is suffering from amnesia after an accident on a mission of the Spanish Army and begins to investigate what happened. The film will be released in Spain on November 30, 2012.

Lucas Vidal to Score Steve Jobs Biopic
Lucas Vidal has started to work on the music for the upcoming biopic jOBS. The drama stars Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs and covers the iconic Silicon Valley visionary from his early years as an impressionable youth and wayward hippie, through his initial successes and infamous ousting, to his storybook return and ultimate triumphs as a man who set out to change the world and did just that. The film is directed by Joshua Michael Stern and co-stars Josh Gad (Love and Other Drugs) as Apple co-founder Steve Woznikak and Matthew Modine will be portraying John Sculley, Apple’s CEO from 1983 to 1993. Dermot Mulroney, Ahna O’Reilly, Ron Eldard, John Getz, Lesley Ann Warren and James Woods are also starring in the drama. Matt Whiteley has written the screenplay and Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Russell Carpenter (Titanic) is also involved in the project.
