Premiering on Friday, March 12, is the Netflix original film Yes Day directed by Miguel Arteta and starring Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramirez, Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, Everly Carganilla, Arturo Castro, Nat Faxon, Fortune Feimster and Molly Sims. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, Bad Teacher, The Big Sick, Daddy’s Home, Freaks & Geeks, Instant Family). Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix original series The One created by Howard Overman based on John Marss’ book and starring Hannah Ware, Dimitri Leonidas, Amir El-Masry, Wilf Scolding, Stephen Campbell, Diarmaid Murtagh, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Lois Chimimba, Pallavi Sharda, Zoë Tapper and Gregg Chillin. Dave Rowntree (The Capture, After the Screaming Stops, White Island) and Ian Arber (Medici, My Name Is Lenny, I Am Bolt) have composed the show’s original music. Premiering tomorrow, March 1, is the NBC mystery drama Debris created by J.H. Wyman and starring Jonathan Tucker, Riann Steele, Norbert Leo Butz and Scroobius Pip. The show’s original music is composed by Raney Shockne (Queen of the South, Anger Management, The To Do List, Kevin Can Wait, The Wedding Year). The series, which revolves around a secretive international agency that is tasked with the mystery of a wreckage that starts falling from the sky, will air every Monday night on NBC. Also premiering tomorrow is the Netflix documentary Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell directed by Emmett Malloy and executive produced by Sean Combs, Voletta Wallace, Mark Pitts, Stanley Buchthal & Brendan Malloy about the life of one of the most influential rappers. Adam Peters (Savages, Icarus, Snowden, Sand Castle, The Dissident) has composed the film’s original score. Rhino Atlantic will release a soundtrack album featuring fourteen tracks by The Notorious B.I.G. Peacock’s ‘Punky Brewster’ Revival to Feature Original Music by Linda Perry

Singer/songwriter Linda Perry (of the former rock band 4 Non Blondes) is the composer of the new Peacock original series Punky Brewster. The show is developed by Steve & Jim Armogida (School of Rock) based on the classic 80s sitcom and stars Soleil Moon Frye and Cherie Johnson who reprise their roles from the original series. They are joined by new cast members Freddie Prinze Jr., Quinn Copeland, Noah Cottrell, Oliver De Los Santos and Lauren Lindsey Donzis. The comedy follows Punky, who is now a single mother of three, as she is trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl in the foster system who reminds her a lot of her younger self.

Don Hardy’s ‘Citizen Penn’ to Feature Original Song Written by Linda Perry and Bono

Linda Perry and Bono have written an original song for the upcoming documentary Citizen Penn. The track, entitled Eden: To Find Love, is performed by Bono and will be featured during the film’s end credits. Perry has also composed the original score for the movie, which is directed by Don Hardy (Pick of the Litter) and revolves around actor and filmmaker Sean Penn’s efforts following the devastating 7.0 earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010. The documentary chronicles the moment Penn arrives on the island, and the ten years since, as Penn the humanitarian carts supplies, builds tents, procures medicine, and calls on his Hollywood friends to join with financial support.

The only nationwide release this weekend is the 25th Anniversary re-release of the drama Schindler’s List directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original music is composed by John Williams (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial) who earned his fifth Academy Award for his score. La-La Land Records has recently released a new 2-CD limited edition soundtrack to coincide with the movie’s re-release. Check out our previous news article for the full album details.

Opening in limited release is the drama Vox Lux directed by Brady Corbet and starring Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Jennifer Ehle, Christopher Abbott and Willem Dafoe. Scott Walker (The Childhood of a Leader, Pola X) has composed the film’s original score and Sia has written original songs for the movie. Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album featuring both the score and the songs next Friday, December 14. Click here for the full album details.

‘Dumplin” Soundtrack Details

Dolly Parton has announced the full details of the soundtrack album for the comedy Dumplin’ this week. The album features the songs from the movie by the Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated singer/songwriter, including collaborations with Sia (already available to download here), Elle King, Mavis Staples, Miranda Lambert, Willa Amai, Rhonda Vincent, Alison Krauss, Macy Gray and DOROTHY. Linda Perry co-wrote several of the songs and serves as a producer of the album. The soundtrack will be released on November 30 by Sony Music Nashville and will be available for pre-order here.
