Masterworks Broadway has announced a new cast recording album for the stage production Back to the Future: The Musical. The 2-CD set features the content of the original album, as well as thirteen previously unreleased demos and early versions of many of the musical’s songs written by Academy Award nominee Alan Silvestri and Grammy Award winner Glen Ballard, most of which are performed by Ballard himself. The Deluxe Edition also features a new booklet, including rehearsal photos and a track by track commentary with stories about the how songs were created for the show. The album will be released next Friday, October 20 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

‘Let Her Kill You’ Soundtrack Album Details
Sony Music France will release a soundtrack album for the French thriller Let Her Kill You (Seule). The album features the film’s original score composed by Nathaniel Méchaly (Taken, The Grandmaster, Colombiana, Shut In, Taxi Brooklyn, Transporter: The Series). Also included is the original song Don’t Look Back written by Méchaly and performed by (and with lyrics by) Academy Award nominee Glen Ballard and Randy Kerber (listen to the track below). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 3 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Let Her Kill You is co-written and directed by Jérôme Dassier and stars Asia Argento and Jeanne Balibar. The movie follows a woman whose former life as an intelligence secret agent catches up with her when she discovers that her isolated chalet in the mountains of Switzerland is on surveillance.
Soundtrack Album for Disney+ Movie ‘Pinocchio’ Released
Walt Disney Records has released the official soundtrack album for the Disney+ original movie Pinocchio. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame, Forrest Gump, Captain America: The First Avenger). Also included are the songs from the movie, including four original tracks written by Silvestri & Glen Ballard (Jagged Little Pill, Back to the Future: The Musical), as well as new covers of three songs from Disney’s animated classic, including the Academy Award-winning When You Wish Upon a Star (click here for the full list of songs). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon.

Premiering in the U.S. today is the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe directed by Barney Douglas about the tennis legend and four-time US Open champion. The film’s original music is composed by The Maccabees guitarist and songwriter Felix White (The Edge). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released digitally this summer and a vinyl edition will be coming out in 2023. The full list of songs featured in Disney+’s new film adaptation of Pinocchio has been revealed. The movie’s composer Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Avengers: Endgame, Cast Away, The Polar Express) and Glen Ballard (Jagged Little Pill, Ghost, Back to the Future: The Musical) have written and produced four original songs: When He Was Here With Me & Pinocchio Pinocchio (performed by Tom Hanks who stars as Geppetto), I Will Always Dance (performed by Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana) and The Coachman to Pleasure Island (performed by Luke Evans as The Coachman).

Alan Silvestri to Compose Music for Robert Zemeckis’ Disney+ Movie ‘Pinocchio’
Alan Silvestri is set to compose the original score for Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming new live-action film adaptation of Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis. He is also producing and co-writing songs for the movie with songwriter/record producer Glen Ballard. Tom Hanks is attached to star in the film as Geppetto. Chris Weitz (About a Boy, Cinderella) is co-writing the screenplay with Zemeckis based on Disney’s 1940 animated classic and will also produce the project with Andrew Miano (The Farewell, A Single Man).

The album features the original songs from the show written by Academy Award nominees Glen Ballard (The Polar Express) and Randy Kerber (The Color Purple) and performed by the drama’s cast. The soundtrack will be released on May 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (digital version) and here (CD version). The Eddy is created by Jack Thorne and stars André Holland, Joanna Kulig, Amandla Stenberg, Leila Bekhti and Tahar Rahim. The musical drama executive produced by Damien Chazelle (who also directed the first two episodes) centers on the owner of a Paris jazz club as he gets tangled up with dangerous criminals as he fights to protect his business, his band and his teenage daughter.

Netflix announced today that Glen Ballard is composing original music for the upcoming Netflix original series The Eddy. The musical drama is creaed by Jack Thorne (National Treasure, This is England) and revolves around a club in contemporary multicultural Paris, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them. The show will be shot in France and feature dialogue in French, English and Arabic. Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash) is directing the first two episodes and will serve as an executive producer on the IMG production alongside Ballard,Thorne, Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, The Newsroom), Patrick Spence (Guerrilla, Fortitude) and Katie Swinden (Luther, Peaky Blinders).
