Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy thriller Fresh. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Honey Boy, Together, Together, Dawson City: Frozen Time, Aloha, Miss Americana, Charm City Kings). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 24 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Fresh is directed by Mimi Cave and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sebastian Stan, Charlotte Le Bon, Jojo T. Gibbs, Andrea Bang and Dayo Okeniyi. The movie follows a woman who accepts an invitation to an impromptu weekend getaway with her new boyfriend, only to find that her new paramour has been hiding some unusual appetites.

Opening nationwide today is the action fantasy movie Mortal Kombat directed by Simon McQuoid and starring Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Mehcad Brooks, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, Chin Han and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation, Lights Out). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Also opening nationwide this week is the Japanese animated feature Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train directed by Haruo Sotozaki and starring Natsuki Hanae, Akari Kito, Hiro Shimono, Satoshi Hino, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Daisuke Hirakawa, Abby Trott, Aleks Le, Zach Aguilar and Bryce Papenbrook. Yuki Kajiura & Go Shiina have composed the film’s original music. The movie, which is based on the shōnen manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge, broke local box office records when it opened in Japanese theaters last year and is being distributed in the U.S. by FUNimation.

Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Dawson City: Frozen Time, Miss Americana, Aloha, Charm City Kings) has composed the original music for the upcoming comedy Together Together. The film is written and directed by Nikole Beckwith (Stockholm, Pennsylvania) and stars Ed Helms, Patti Harrison, Tig Notaro, Julio Torres and Anna Konkle. The movie centers on an unexpected relationship that unfolds between a young loner who is hired as the surrogate for a single man in his 40s. Anthony Brandonisio (Bottled Up), Daniela Taplin Lundberg (The Kids Are All Right, Harriet) and Tim Headington (Hugo, Never Rarely Sometimes Always) are producing the project.
Soundtrack Album for Helena Coan’s ‘Audrey’ Documentary to Be Released
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Audrey. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Honey Boy, Miss Americana, Aloha, Charm City Kings, Manhattan). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 11, 2020 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Audrey is directed by Helena Coan and centers on Hollywood star Audrey Hepburn who won her first Academy Award at the age of 24, and went on to become one of the world’s greatest cultural icons. The movie explores her her life, her dreams and her legacy and features never-before-seen footage from her family’s personal collection.

Premiering tonight is the AMC original series The Walking Dead: World Beyond created by Scott M. The show’s original music is composed by The Newton Brothers (Doctor Sleep, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Detachment, Life of Crime, Oculus). The film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and stars Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Meek Mill, Will Catlett, Teyonah Parris, Donielle Tremaine Hansley and Kezii Curtis. The movie is based on the documentary 12 O’Clock Boys and follows a young who boy as he joins the Midnight Clique, the infamous Baltimore dirt bike riders who rule the summertime streets. Sherman Payne, Chris Boyd & Kirk Sullivan and Barry Jenkins (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk) wrote the screenplay.
