The full composer line-up of the new Apple TV+ original documentary series Omnivore has been revealed. The show is developed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (No Time to Die, True Detective), created and narrated by René Redzepi and follows the chef and co-owner of world-renowned restaurant Noma as he takes viewers on an immersive journey into the world of food. Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad (Luke Cage, Boogie, Sugar, Reasonable Doubt) have contributed the main title theme to the project. Alex Somers (Honey Boy, Causeway, Captain Fantastic, Fresh, Under the Bridge) has composed the music for the episode Chile directed by Drea Cooper, Aska Matsumiya (After Yang, Bruised, Betty, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Skate Kitchen, I’m Your Woman) has scored the episode Tuna directed by Mateo Willis, Oliver Coates (Aftersun, Mary & George, The Stranger, Occupied City) has provided the music for the episode Salt directed by Cooper and Dan Deacon (Hustle, The Changeling, Ascension, Twixt) has scored the episode Banana directed by David Charles Rodrigues.
Alex Somers Scoring Mimi Cave’s ‘Holland, Michigan’
This past week, Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Honey Boy, Causeway, Together, Together, Aloha, Charm City Kings, Dawson City: Frozen Time) has recorded his score for the upcoming thriller Holland, Michigan. The film is directed by Mimi Cave and stars Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal, Matthew Macfadyen, Rachel Sennott, Jude Hill, Isaac Krasner, Lennon Parham and Jeff Pope. The movie follows a Midwestern housewife who uncovers a dark secret on the part of her husband, after coming to suspect that he’s having an affair.

The show is developed by Quinn Shephard (Not Okay, Blame) based on the best-selling true-crime book of the same title by Rebecca Godfrey and stars Riley Keough, Lily Gladstone, Vritika Gupta, Chloe Guidry, Izzy G., Javon “Wanna” Walton, Aiyana Goodfellow, Ezra Faroque Khan and Archie Panjabi. The 8-part drama tells the 1997 true story of a fourteen-year old teenager who went to join friends at a party and never returned home.
Soundtrack EP for Abel Rubinstein’s ‘Mars’ Short Released
KRUNK has released a soundtrack EP for the short film Mars. The 6-track EP features the movie’s original music composed by Alex Somers (Honey Boy, Captain Fantastic, Causeway, Fresh, Together, Together, Aloha, Dawson City: Frozen Time, Charm City Kings). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Mars is directed by Abel Rubinstein, produced by Cat Marshall, Stefan Demetriou & Yungblud (as Dominic Harrison) and stars Yasmin Finney, Leah Choudhry and Pete MacHale. The short is set in the north of England and follows a day in the life of a teenager that makes her reassess what truly matters.
‘Causeway’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Causeway. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Somers (Honey Boy, Captain Fantastic, Together, Together, Aloha, Fresh, Charm City Kings, Dawson City: Frozen Time). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Causeway is directed by Lila Neugebauer and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Brian Tyree Henry, Linda Emond, Jayne Houdyshell and Stephen McKinley Henderson. The movie follows a woman who was working for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Afghanistan when her vehicle hit an explosive, injuring her body and brain, as she is struggling to adjust to her life after returning home to New Orleans.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror movie Prey for the Devil directed by Daniel Stamm and starring Jacqueline Byers, Colin Salmon, Christian Navarro, Virginia Madsen, Nicholas Ralph, Lisa Palfrey and Ben Cross. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, The Americans, Hollywood, Hemlock Grove, Cabin Fever). Isabella Summers (of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Physical, The Offer, Sex/Life) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release.
