Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the giant screen documentary The Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void, Queen of Katwe, Roots, State of Play, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music stores), where you can also check out audio samples. The Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness directed by Florian Schulz & Myles Connolly is the first-ever cinematic account of the Arctic National Wildlife refuge, situated in the northeastern corner of Alaska. The movie follows Schulz as he tracks the Porcupine Caribou herd on the longest animal migration on Earth, and witnesses pregnant female polar bears denning along the coastal plain. Jonny Greenwood is reteaming with Paul Thomas Anderson on the director’s upcoming, currently untitled drama (known under the working title Soggy Bottom). The film is written and directed by Anderson (Magnolia, Boogie Nights) and stars Bradley Cooper, Cooper Hoffman, Alana Haim, Benny Safdie and Skyler Gisondo. The movie is set in the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s and revolves around a high school student and successful child actor. Anderson is also producing the Ghoulardi Film Company production with Sarah Murphy (If Beale Street Could Talk, Never Rarely Sometimes Always) and JoAnne Sellar (Punch-Drunk Love). Premiering in the U.S. today is the British series Guilt created by Neil Forsyth and starring Mark Bonnar, Jamie Sives, Ruth Bradley, Emun Elliott, Sian Brooke, Moyo Akandé, Ellie Haddington and Bill Paterson. The show’s original music is composed by Arthur Sharpe (The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, Ghosts). The thriller, which follows two brothers who are hiding their guilt after running into an elderly pedestrian during an inebriated drive home from a wedding, premiered in the UK in 2019 on BBC Two and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Tuesday, September 7, is the FX limited series American Crime Story: Impeachment developed by Sarah Burgess and starring Sarah Paulson, Beanie Feldstein, Margo Martindale, Annaleigh Ashford, Clive Owen, Judith Light, Billy Eichner and Edie Falco. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Politician, Scream Queens) who previously scored the first two American Crime Story installments (The People v. O.J. Simpson & The Assassination of Gianni Versace) is composing the show’s original music. The new season, which examines the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century, will premiere on FX and will also be available to stream on FX on Hulu.
