Martin Phipps (The Crown, Woman in Gold, War & Peace, The Aftermath, The Honourable Woman, Harry Brown) & Ed Farmer have composed the original music for the upcoming British family drama The Railway Children Return. The film is directed by Morgan Matthews and stars Jenny Agutter, Sheridan Smith, Tom Courtenay, John Bradley, Beau Gadsdon, K.J. Aikens, Eden Hamilton, Austin Haynes and Zac Cudby. The sequel to the 1970 classic The Railway Children (scored by Johnny Douglas) is set 40 years after the events of the original and follows a new group of children who are evacuated to a Yorkshire village during World War II, where they encounter a young soldier. Premiering tomorrow, May 31, is the CW drama Tom Swift created by Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau & Cameron Johnson starring Tian Richards, Ashleigh Murray, April Parker Jones, Marquise Vilsón, Albert Mwangi and LeVar Burton. The show’s original music is composed by Matthew Head (P-Valley, Boomerang, The Family Business). The series, which is inspired by the Tom Swift book series and revolves around the title character who was introduced in the network’s Nancy Drew, will air every Tuesday on the CW.
Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, June 2, is the British drama This Is Going to Hurt created by Adam Kay based on his book of the same name and starring Ben Whishaw, Hannah Onslow, Ambika Mod, Michele Austin, Rosie Akerman and Andreea Paduraru. JARV IS…, led by Jarvis Cocker (of Pulp), have composed the film’s original music. Rough Trade Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the artist’s score and songs earlier this year. Kevin Kiner Scoring Disney+’s ‘Tales of the Jedi’

It was announced during a panel at today’s third day of Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim that Kevin Kiner (Narcos: Mexico, CSI: Miami, Making a Murderer, Hell on Wheels) is composing the music for Lucasfilm’s upcoming Disney+ animated shorts series Tales of the Jedi. The 6-part anthology show written and executive produced by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett) will tell stories from different Jedi of the prequel era and features Star Wars characters Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn (voiced by Liam Neeson), Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker. Madison Gate Records has released digital versions of the expanded soundtrack albums for the 1980 romantic adventure drama The Blue Lagoon directed by Randal Kleiser and starring Brooke Shields & Christopher Atkins and its 1991 sequel Return to the Blue Lagoon directed by William A. Graham and starring Milla Jovovich & Brian Krause. The albums feature the original score from the films composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian, RoboCop, Starship Troopers, The Hunt for Red October, For the Love of the Game). The film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, His Dark Materials), Harold Faltermeyer (Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop), Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer (Inception, Gladiator, The Dark Knight). Interscope Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as songs by Gaga, OneRepublic & Kenny Loggins today. Also opening wide is the animated feature The Bob’s Burgers Movie directed by Loren Bouchard & Bernard Derriman and starring Kristen Schaal, H. Bouchard & Nora Smith wrote the film’s original songs and Tim Davies orchestrated, arranged and conducted the movie’s score.
