Artie Kane has passed away at age 93. The composer, conductor and pianist scored numerous film and television productions between the mid-1970s and early 90s. Among his feature scoring credits are Irvin Kershner’s Eyes of Laura Mars, Richard Brooks’ Looking for Mr. Goodbar & Wrong Is Right, Jerry Jameson’s The Bat People and Robert Butler’s Night of the Juggler. Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Disney+ original movie Rise. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ré Olunuga (Up North, Coming from Insanity). The Nigerian composer’s score mixes his interpretation of classic orchestral Disney film music with traditional African phraseology, rhythms and instruments. Also included are two original songs co-written and performed by the eldest Antetokounmpo brother, Ofili (aka Francis Adetokunbo), as well as the song One Day performed by Shirazee.
