The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by British music producer Swindle. Netflix announced today that Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper (Shadow in the Cloud, The Legend of Baron To’a, Housebound) has been tapped to score the upcoming animated feature Plankton: The Movie. The film is directed by Dave Needham (The Loud House Movie) and features the voices of Mr. Lawrence, Jill Talley, Tom Kenny, Carolyn Lawrence, Bill Fagerbakke, Clancy Brown and Rodger Bumpass. Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords, The Muppets), Linda Perry (of 4 Non Blondes) and Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie) & Bob Mothersbaugh (Rugrats, 200 Cigarettes) are writing original songs for the movie, which is based on the series SpongeBob SquarePants characters created by Stephen Hillenburg and follows Plankton whose world is flipped upside down when his plan for world domination is thwarted. Last night, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) held its annual Film, TV & Visual Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Ramin Djawadi was named BMI Icon in recognition of his outstanding body of work across film, television and video games. The composer whose scoring credits include such films as Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Eternals, The Man from Toronto, Blade: Trinity & Clash of the Titans, TV shows including Game of Thrones, Westworld, Fallout & Prison Break, as well as the video games Medal of HonorGears of War 4Gears 5, was presented the award by BMI President and CEO Mike O’Neill who hosted the evening with BMI Vice President, Creative, Film, TV & Visual Media, Tracy McKnight.
