Ezinma Scoring HBO’s ‘Angel City’

Violinist and composer Ezinma has made her television scoring debut on the new HBO original documentary series Angel City. The show is directed by Arlene Nelson (Gutsy) and centers on the groundbreaking Los Angeles-based professional women’s soccer team, Angel City Football Club (ACFC), founded by actress Natalie Portman, venture capitalist Kara Nortman and gaming entrepreneur Julie Uhrman. The 3-parter pulls back the curtain on the team’s origin story through the 2022 inaugural season, and reveals the passion and grit needed to build a franchise from scratch. Patrick Stump, lead singer of Fall Out Boy, has contributed original music to the upcoming comedy Sick Girl. The film is written and directed by Jennifer Cram and stars Nina Dobrev, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sherry Cola, Brandon Mychal Smith, Hayley Magnus, Stephanie Koening, Dan Bakkedahl and Ray McKinnon. Warp Records has announced a soundtrack album for the British romantic comedy drama Rye Lane. The album features the film’s original score composed by Kwes. The soundtrack will be released digitally and on vinyl on November 3, 2023 (click here to pre-order). An EP featuring six first tracks is already available to stream/download now on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Rye Lane is directed by Raine Allen-Miller and stars David Jonsson, Vivian Oparah, Karene Peter, Malcolm Atobrah, Benjamin Sarpong-Broni, Alice Hewkin, Poppy Allen-Quarmby and Simon Manyonda. Anne Nikitin (American AnimalsThe DropoutMrs. Wilson, Dangerous Liaison, Fate: The Winx Saga) is composing the original score for the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series Hijack. The show is created by George Kay (Lupin, Criminal) & Jim Field Smith (She’s Out of My League, Butter) and stars Idris Elba, Archie Panjabi, Christine Adams and Max Beesley. WaterTower Music has released a third soundtrack for DC’s first-ever Batman preschool series Batwheels. The Vol. 3 EP features five more original songs from the show’s first season co-written by Andy Sturmer (who also produced all tracks) with Susanna Benn and executive producer Michael G. Stern. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to all five tracks below. The label has previously released a first 8-track volume and a second volume with additional five songs last fall. Warner Chapell Music has released a soundtrack album for the first Taiwanese Netflix original series Copycat Killer. The album features the show’s original music composed by Tzu Chieh Wen (The Bridge Curse, On Happiness Road). Copycat Killer is based on Japanese author Miyabe Miyuki’s bestselling novel of the same name and stars Wu Kang-ren, Alice Ko, Ruby Lin, Tou Tsung-hua, Yao Chun-yao and Fandy Fan.
