Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Monday is the musical drama The Color Purple directed by Blitz Bazawule and starring Taraji P. Henson, Fantasia, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, H.E.R., Corey Hawkins, Halle Bailey, Ciara, Aunjanue Ellis, Phylicia Pearl Mpasi and Louis Gossett Jr. The film’s original score is composed by Kris Bowers (King Richard, Bridgerton, Secret Invasion, Green Book, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Haunted Mansion, When They See Us). WaterTower Music & gamma. have released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie (in two different versions) earlier this month and WaterTower has released a separate album featuring Bowers’ score on Monday. Also opening in theaters nationwide this holiday week is the biographical drama Ferrari directed by Michael Mann and starring Adam Driver, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gordon, Patrick Dempsey, Gabriel Leone and Jack O’Connell. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Enola Holmes, Birds of Prey Ocean’s 8, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Monday.
