Premiering tonight is the HBO original documentary series Ren Faire produced and directed by Lance Oppenheim and executive produced by Elara Pictures. The show’s original music is composed by Ari Balouzian (Some Kind of Heaven, Spermworld, They Call Us Monsters, The Giant). The 3-parter, which explores the succession drama at the Texas Renaissance Festival and the power struggle between an actor, a former elephant trainer and a kettle-corn kingpin, all vying to claim the throne of the leader, 86-year-old George Coulams, will air Sundays on HBO and will also be available to stream on Max.

Premiering on Tuesday, June 4, is the Disney+ original live-action Star Wars series The Acolyte created by Leslye Headland and starring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, CManny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and Carrie-Anne Moss. Michael Abels (Get Out, Nope, Us, Bad Education, The Burial, See You Yesterday, Landscape with Invisible Hand, Breaking) has composed the show’s original music. The album features the film’s original score composed by Gregor Keienburg (Eternal You, Future Is a Lonely Place) & Ben Winkler. Every You Every Me is written and directed by Michael Fetter Nathansky and stars Aenne Schwarz, Carlo Ljubek, Youness Aabbaz, Sara Fazilat, Sammy Schrein and Naila Schuberth. Megan Moroney’s Song ‘Never Left Me’ from ‘Twisters’ Released

Atlantic Records has released the third song from the soundtrack album for the disaster movie Twisters. Available to stream/download on all major digital music services is Never Left Me co-written (with Connie Harrington, Jessi Alexander & Jessie Jo Dillon) and performed by Megan Moroney. The label has previously released two first songs (Luke Combs’ Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma & Bailey Zimmerman’s Hell or High Water) last month and will release the full Twisters: The Album on July 19. Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, Sasha Lane, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Nik Dodani, Daryl McCormack and Kiernan Shipka. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend (but advertised as a limited release) is the biographical sports drama Young Woman and the Sea directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Daisy Ridley, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Christopher Eccleston, Stephen Graham, Kim Bodnia and Glenn Fleshle. The film’s original music is composed by Amelia Warner (Mr. Malcolm’s List, Wild Mountain Thyme, Mary Shelley, Mum’s List). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the comedy drama Ezra directed by Tony Goldwyn and starring Bobby Cannavale, Robert De Niro, Rose Byrne, William Fitzgerald, Vera Farmiga, Rainn Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg. Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen’s Gambit, Lessons in Chemistry, Godless, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Griselda, Hacks) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song written by Adrienne Ackerman and performed by Rae Isla today. Walt Disney Records has released an original song from the new Walt Disney World and Disneyland attraction Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Special Spice written by Grammy Award-winning musician, singer, songwriter and producer PJ Morton and performed by Anika Noni Rose who is reprising her role of Princess Tiana from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animated feature The Princess and the Frog. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for the French Disney+/Hulu limited series Becoming Karl Lagerfeld. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Loveless, Scenes from a Marriage, Radioactive, Wizard of Lies, The Family, Happening). Becoming Karl Lagerfeld is based on the novel Kaiser Karl by Raphaëlle Bacqué and stars Daniel Brühl, Théodore Pellerin, Arnaud Valois, Alex Lutz and Agnès Jaoui. The 6-part biographical drama is set against the backdrop of Parisian nights in the 70s and chonicles the rise of the fashion designer through who – after meeting and falling in love with Jacques de Bascher – finds himself in competition with Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, the head of the most prestigious fashion brand around. The theme song of the fiction children’s television show of the same name is written and produced by Tim Minchin (Matilda the Musical, Groundhog Day The Musical, Back to the Outback) and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Kickstarter Campaign Launched for Premiere Re-Recordings of James Horner’s ‘The Hand’ & ‘The Dresser’ Scores

Perseverance Records has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for the world premiere recordings of two unreleased scores written by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, Apollo 13, Field of Dreams, Aliens, A Beautiful Mind, Legends of the Fall). The titles include Oliver Stone’s 1981 horror film The Hand starring Michael Caine & Andrea Marcovicci and Peter Yates’ 1983 drama The Dresser starring Albert Finney & Tom Courtenay. Among the key people involved in the project, which is supported and endorsed by the Horner Estate and the composer’s widow Sara, are orchestrator Nikiforos Chrysoloras, blaster beam inventor Craig Huxley, pianist Gloria Cheng and conductor, orchestrator & arranger Matt Dunkley.
