Last night, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) held its annual Film, TV & Visual Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Christopher Lennertz was named BMI Icon in recognition of his significant musical contributions, exceptional body of work and unmatched efforts in supporting the next generation of composers. The composer whose scoring credits include films such as Horrible Bosses, Ride Along, Bad Moms, TV shows including The Boys, Agent Carter and Supernatural, as well as games in the Medal of Honor, James Bond and Mass Effect series was presented the award by BMI President and CEO Mike O’Neill who hosted the evening with BMI Vice President, Creative, Film, TV & Visual Media, Tracy McKnight. ‘Flashover’ Soundtrack Album Details

Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the Chinese action drama Flashover (Jing tian jiu yuan). The album features the film’s original music composed by Anthony Chue (Reign of Assassins, Bodies at Rest, Invisible Target, G Storm, Divergence). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 11 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Flashover is directed by Oxide Chun Pang and stars Du Jiang, Wang Qianyuan, Cecilia Han, Tong Liya, Yu Haoming and Elvis Han. The movie follows a group of firefighters who risk their lives to save survivors trapped in a massive chemical plant after an earthquake shakes the city and engulfs the area in flames. The movie is directed by Sammi Cohen (Crush) and stars Idina Menzel, Jackie Sandler, Adam Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Dylan Hoffman, Samantha Lorraine, Dan Bulla, Sarah Sherman, Ido Mosseri, Jackie Hoffman and Luis Guzmán. The family comedy is based on the book of the same name by Fiona Rosenbloom and follows two BFFs who’ve always dreamed about having epic bat mitzvahs, but things start to go awry when a popular boy and middle school drama threatens their friendship and their rite of passage. Analogue Foundation will release a soundtrack album for the documentary All the Beauty and the Bloodshed. The album features the film’s original music is composed by Soundwalk Collective. Nicolas Repetto (The Sound of Identity, The Reunion) has released a soundtrack album for the documentary A Run for More. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on most major digital music services, including Amazon. A Run for More is directed by Ray Whitehouse and follows the story of Frankie Gonzales-Wolfe, the first openly transgender woman running for city council in San Antonio, Texas.
