‘Gimme the Loot’ Soundtrack EP Announced

gimme-the-lootSophisticon Records will release a soundtrack EP for the indie drama Gimme the Loot. The soundtrack features three songs from the film by Nicholas Britell & Mario Grullon, Rahzel Jr. and Chronikill. The EP is being released today and is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. Gimme the Loot written and directed by Adam Leon and starring Tashiana Washington, Ty Hickson & Zoë Lescaze centers on two graffiti-writing teens who try to execute a complicated revenge plan in New York City when one of their works is defaced by a rival gang. The movie premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival, where it received the Grand Jury  and also won the Independent Spirit Someone to Watch Award. bad-boysIntrada Records has announced two new soundtrack albums. First up is the world premiere release of the score for the 1983 crime thriller Bad Boys directed by Rick Rosenthal and starring Sean Penn, Esai Morales, Ally Sheedy and Reni Santoni. The film’s music is written by Academy Award-winning composer Bill Conti (Rocky, The Karate Kid). The album features the score, as well as additional alternate and unused source cues. ’42’ Soundtrack Details

42WaterTower Music has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the sports drama 42. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Wynonie Harris, Spade Cooley, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole Trio, Duke Ellington, Hank Williams, Sister Wynona Carr and Melora Hardin. Also included is one track from the movie’s original score composed by Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Miracle). The soundtrack will be released on April 9, 2013. Audio clips are available after the jump. 42 is written and directed by Brian Helgeland and stars Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford, Christopher Meloni, Ryan Merriman, Brad Beyer, Judy Tylor, Jon Bernthal, Nicole Beharie and T.R. Knight. The drama tells the story of Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier when he joined the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers. 2-gunsClinton Shorter is scoring the upcoming action thriller 2 Guns. The film is directed by Baltasar Kormakur and stars Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, Bill Paxton, Edward James Olmos, Paula Patton and James Marsden. The movie follow a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who unwittingly investigate each other as each steals mob money. Blake Masters (Brotherhood, Law & Order: LA) has written the screenplay based on Steven Grant’s graphic novel and Marc Platt (Drive, Wanted, Rachel Getting Married) is producing the project with Andrew Cosby (Eureka), Ross Richie, Norton Herrick (Very Good Girls) and Randall Emmett & George Furla. ‘Borgia’ Season 2 Soundtrack Announced

borgia-2Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the historical drama series Borgia. The album features selections from the music of the show’s second season composed by Eric Neveux (Intimacy, Flight of the Storks). The soundtrack will be released overseas on April 29, 2013. No word yet on a domestic release. Borgia is created by Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life On The Street, Oz) and stars John Doman, Stanley Weber, Mark Ryder, Isolda Dychauk, Diarmuid Noyes, Assumpta Serna and Marta Gastini. The series’ second season will begin in 1494, 8 months after the death of Rodrigo Borgia’s eldest son and will chart the meteoric rise of Prince Cesare Borgia as the family endeavors to keep hold of the papacy. batesmotelPremiering tomorrow is the new drama Bates Motel executive produced by Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights) and starring Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, Nicola Peltz, Nestor Carbonell  and Mike Vogel. The show is contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie Psycho and follows Norman Bates during his teenage years. Chris Bacon (Source Code, Smash) is the composer of the show. sapphiresFollowing a soundtrack release featuring the movie’s songs, a score album for the musical comedy The Sapphires has been announced. The score is composed by Cezary Skubiszewski. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 22, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. As previously reported, a soundtrack featuring the songs from the film was released overseas last summer. Columbia Records will release the album including an additional tracks this Tuesday, March 19 in the US. To order the album, visit Amazon. rogueJeff Toyne is scoring DIRECTV’s first original series Rogue. The drama is created by Matthew Parkhill (The Caller) and stars Thandie Newton as a morally and emotionally-conflicted undercover detective who is tormented by the possibility that her own actions contributed to her son’s death. Marton Csokas, Ian Hart, Claudia Ferri, Joshua Sasse, Jonathan Holmes, Sarah Jeffrey, Ian Tracey, Jarod Joseph, Matthew Beard and Martin Donovan are co-starring. Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire) has directed the first episode. burt-wonderstoneOpening in most theaters is the comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone directed by Don Scardino and starring Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde, Alan Arkin, James Gandolfini, Jay Mohr and Michael Bully Herbig. The film’s original music is composed by Lyle Workman (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Superbad). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. ‘Wadjda’ Soundtrack Details

wadjdaMilan France has released a soundtrack album for drama Wadjda. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (Waltz with Bashir, Perfect Sense). The soundtrack is now available in France. No word yet on a domestic release. Click here to listen to audio clips. Wadjda written and directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour is the first feature film shot entirely in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The movie follows a 10-year old girl who challenges deep-rooted Saudi traditions in a determined quest to buy a bicycle. When everything goes against her plans, she sees one last chance in her school’s Koran recitation competition and the large cash prize for first place. The movie premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is now playing in several European territories.
