Music.Film Recordings & Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Peacock original series Those About to Die. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Andrea Farri (Io Capitano, Security, The First King, The Hanging Sun, Italian Race, Latin Lover). Also included is the historical drama’s opening title theme (in two different versions) composed by French singer/songwriter Woodkid. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 19 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. ‘Those About to Die’ to Feature Main Title Theme by Woodkid
French singer/songwriter Woodkid has contributed the main title theme to the new Peacock original series Those About to Die. The show is based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Daniel P. Mannix and stars Iwan Rheon, Anthony Hopkins, Sara Martins, Gabriella Pession, Jojo Macari, Dimitri Leonidas, Moe Hashim, Tom Hughes,Rupert Penry-Jones, Emilio Sakraya, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, David Wurawa, Eneko Sagardoy, Pepe Barroso, Gonçalo Almeida and Romana Maggiora Vergano. The 10-part historical drama directed by Roland Emmerich & Marco Kreuzpaintner is scored by Andrea Farri and follows a group of characters from all corners of the Roman Empire who collide at the explosive intersection of sports, politics, and dynasties.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the thriller The Accountant directed by Gary O’Connor and starring Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Jean Smart, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Once Upon a Time, 42, American Crime). Also opening nationwide is the concert movie Kevin Hart: What Now? directed by Leslie Small. Motown Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs performed by Hart and guest artists such as Nick Jonas, Trey Songz, Joelle James, Akon,Think, Clinton Sparks, BJ The Chicago Kid & more, as well as a new track by Big Sean & 2 Chainz. The movie doesn’t feature a full original score, but Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Bad Moms) and Todd Bozung have composed music for the Casino segment of the film and Philip White also contributed additional music.
‘Desierto’ Soundtrack Details
Green United Music will release a soundtrack album for the thriller Desierto. The album features the film’s original music composed by French singer/songwriter Woodkid. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Desierto is directed by Jonas Cuaron (screenwriter of Gravity) and stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Alondra Hidalgo, Diego Catano, Marco Perez, Oscar Flores Guerrero, David Peralt Arreola. The movie produced by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) follows a group of Mexicans whose attempts to cross the border into the United States are complicated by a shotgun-wielding vigilante.
Hans Zimmer, Pharell Williams & Woodkid to Compose Music for JR’s Next Film Project
French artist JR has announced on Instagram (via Complex) that Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Woodkid will be composing the music for his next film project. No details of the movie have been announced yet. Woodkid has previously collaborated with JR on the ballet Les bosquets. Zimmer and Williams have most recently worked together on the soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as Williams’ record G I R L. JR has previously the 2010 French documentary Women Are Heroes and was also the subject of last year’s doc Inside Out, which featured a score by composers including Antonio Pinto and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
