John Debney has composed the theme for the upcoming thriller Careful What You Wish For. The composer’s son Josh Debney and The Newton Brothers have written the score for the movie directed by Elizabeth Allen (Aquamarine, Ramona and Beezus) and starring Isabel Lucas, Dermot Mulroney, Nick Jonas, Graham Rogers and Paul Sorvino. The film follows a young, lonely wife of a wealthy businessman who rents the lake house next door to a high-school student. When the student starts an affair with the wife, he gets more than he bargained for. Robert L. Stein, Michael A. ‘Mary Poppins’ 50th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Details

Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for Disney’s classic musical Mary Poppins. The 50th Anniversary Edition features the film’s original songs composed by Richard Sherman and Robert Sherman performed by the movie’s cast. Also included are previously unreleased Sherman Brothers demo recordings. The soundtrack will be released later this month and coincides with the 50th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD release of the film to be released on December 10, 2013. Mary Poppins is directed by Robert Stevenson and stars Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, David Tomlinson, Glynis Johns, Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber. Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for Spike Lee’s upcoming mystery thriller Oldboy. The album features the film’s original score composed by Roque Banos (Evil Dead, The Machinist, Sexy Beast). La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the score for the 1990 racing drama Days of Thunder directed by Tony Scott and starring Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Robert Duvall. The music is composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator) whose other collaborations with the director include True Romance, The Fan and Crimson Tide.
