The album features a rejected score composed by film composer John Murphy (Sunshine, 28 Days Later…, Snatch, Miami Vice, Kick-Ass, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) for a movie, which can’t be named for legal reasons. John Dragonetti to Score ‘Scout’

John Dragonetti has been tapped to score the upcoming indie coming-of-age comedy drama Scout. The film is written and directed by Laurie Weltz (Wresting with Alligators) and stars India Ennenga, Nikki Reed, Danny Glover, Ellen Burstyn, James Frecheville, Onata Aprile and Shelly Hennig. The movie follows a rebellious young girl who convinces a suicidal young man to go on a road trip with her across Texas to track down her little sister, who’s been taken by their estranged carnie father. Beverley A. Gordon, Nic Emiliani and Dwjuan Fox are producing the project. Scout is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2015. Read the rest of this entry »
‘The Congress’ U.S. Version Soundtrack Details

The details of the U.S. version of the soundtrack album for the hybrid animated/live action movie The Congress have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (Disconnect, The Leftovers) who previously collaborated with director Ari Folman on Waltz With Bashir. Also included are versions of the songs Forever Young and If It Be Your Will performed by actress Robin Wright. The soundtrack will be released on July 22, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album overseas last year when the film opened in Europe. The Congress stars Robin Wright, Harvey Keitel, Jon Hamm, Paul Giamatti, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Danny Huston. Dave Porter to Score Starz’s ‘Flesh and Bone’

Dave Porter has signed on to score the upcoming Starz original series Flesh and Bone. The show is created by Moira Walley-Beckett and stars Sarah Hay, Irina Dvorovenko, Sascha Radetsky, Raychel Diane Weiner, Emily Tyra and Damon Herriman. The series follows a young ballet dancer with a distinctly troubled past, as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. Walley-Beckett is also executive producing the project with Lawrence Bender (Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, Good Will Hunting), Kevin Brown (Roswell) and John Melfi (House of Cards, Sex and the City). Three new movies opened nationwide this past Wednesday:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Tammy directed by Ben Falcone and starring Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Gary Cole, Mark Duplass, Dan Aykroyd, Kathy Bates, Toni Collette and Nat Faxon. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, The Heat). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as two songs by Possum Creek earlier this week. Also opening wide is the family sci-fi adventure Earth to Echo directed by Dave Green and starring Teo Halm, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Reese Hartwig and Ella Linnea Wahlested. Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, The Raid, Tron: Uprising) has composed the film’s original music. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score, as well as the song Worlds Away performed by Dia Frampton. Paramount Pictures has released a score album for Michael Bay’s sci-fi action sequel Transformers: Age of Extinction. The album features the film’s original music composed by Steve Jablonsky (Pain & Gain, The Island, Ender’s Game) who also scored the previous three Transformers movies. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. A soundtrack EP featuring four tracks of the composer’s music was previously released earlier this week. Transformers: Age of Extinction stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Bingbing Li, Titus Welliver and TJ Miller.
