Sony Legacy will release a soundtrack album for Jean-Marc Vallee’s drama Wild. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Simon & Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Portishead, The Shangri-Las, Billy Swan, Lucina Williams, Wings, Pat Metheny Group & more. The soundtrack will be released on November 10, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Wild stars Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Thomas Sadoski, Gaby Hoffman, Kevin Rankin and Michiel Huisman. The movie based on the best-selling novel by Cheryl Strayed and adapted for the screen by Nick Hornby follows a woman who – haunted by memories of her mother and with absolutely no experience – sets out to hike more than a thousand miles on the Pacific Crest Trail all on her own. Gustavo Santaolalla’s ‘The Book of Life’ Score to Be Released

Sony Classical will release a score album for the animated feature The Book of Life. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, Amores Perros, On the Road). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 21, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next couple of days. As previously reported, the label has already released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film, as well as selections from the score. The Book of Life is directed by Jorge Gutierrez, produced by Guillermo del Toro and features the voices of Channing Tatum, Zoë Saldana, Diego Luna, Ice Cube, Christina Applegate, Danny Trejo, Ron Perlman, Cheech Marin, Kate del Castillo and Eugenio Derbez. ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ to Feature End Credits Song Performed by Billy Boyd

Actor Billy Boyd and screenwriters/producers Phillipa Boyens and Fran Walsh have written an original end credits song for Peter Jackson’s upcoming fantasy adventure The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The track entitled The Last Goodbye is also performed by Boyd who played Peregrin “Pippin” Took in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. As previously reported, WaterTower Music will release the soundtrack album for the film, which features the song, as well as the film’s original score composed by Howard Shore. Premiering on Friday, October 24, is the new NBC drama Constantine based on the DC Comics Hellblazer series, developed by Daniel Cerone& David S. Goyer and starring Matt Ryan, Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford. Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Battlestar Galactica, Da Vinci’s Demons) is composing the show’s original music. This past week, James Horner recorded his music for the upcoming drama The 33 on the Newman Scoring Stage at 20th Century Fox Studios in Los Angeles. The movie is directed by Patricia Riggen (Under the Same Moon, Girl in Progress) and stars Antonio Banderas, Juliette Binoche, Rodrigo Santoro, Cote de Pablo, James Brolin, Gabriel Byrne, Oscar Nunez, Kate Del Castillo, Lou Diamond Phillips, Mario Casas, Juan Pablo Raba, Tenoch Huerta, Jacob Vargas, Marco Trevino and Alejandro Goic. The movie is based on the true events of the collapsed Copiapo copper mine and the 33 miners who remained trapped more than 2,000 feet underground. Mike Medavoy (Black Swan, Shutter Island, Zodiac) is producing the project for Phoenix Picutres, alongside Robert Katz (Law Abiding Citizen, The Rebound) and Edward McGurn. Momentum RLP Records will release three more soundtrack albums for the OWN docu-series Operation Change. The albums features selections of the original score from the show composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Tale of Despereaux, My Dog Skip) and Alex Kovacs. Toby Chu has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC drama State of Affairs. The show is created by Alexi Hawley (Castle, Exorcist: The Beginning) and stars Katherine Heigl, Alfre Woodard, Sheila Vand, Adam Kaufman, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas and David Harbour. The series follows a top CIA analyst who assembles the president’s Daily Briefing, which lists the most vital security issues facing the nation. Heigl is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds), Dario Scardapane (The Bridge, Trauma), Nancy Heigl, Robert Simonds (The Wedding Singer, Cheaper by the Dozen), Julia Franz (Men at Work), Henry Crumpton, Rodney Faraon and Sophie Watts.
