Decca Classics will release the official soundtrack album for Mike Newell’s historical drama The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexandra Harwood (The Escape). The soundtrack will released digitally tomorrow, May 18 and will be available to download on Amazon. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society starring Lily James, Michiel Huisman, Glen Powell, Matthew Goode, Jessica Brown Findlay, Tom Courtenay & Penelope Wilton is based on Mary Ann Shaffer’s & Annie Barrows’ 2008 novel and follows a free-spirited journalist who bonds with the eccentric residents of Guernsey when she decides to write about the book club they formed during the WWII German occupation.

Mark Mothersbaugh Scoring Amazon’s ‘The Interestings’
Mark Mothersbaugh has scored the pilot for the Amazon Studios series The Interestings. The show is created by Lyn Greene & Richard Levine (Masters of Sex, Nip/Tuck) and stars Lauren Ambrose, David Krumholtz, Jessica Pare, Matt Barr, Gabriel Ebert, Jessica Collins and Corey Cott. The drama is based on Meg Wolitzer’s bestselling novel and follows a group of artistic teenagers who meet at summer camp in 1974 and whose friendships are tested by tragedy, success, failure and secrets over the next few decades. Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Four Weddings and a Funeral) has directed the pilot episode.
‘Great Expectations’ Soundtrack Details
Metropolis Movie Music will release a soundtrack album for Mike Newell’s new film adaptation of Great Expectations. The album features the film’s original score composed by Richard Hartley (The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, A Thousand Acres). The album will be released overseas digitally on November 23, 2012 and physically on November 26. To order the CD as an import, visit Amazon. No word yet on a domestic release date. Great Expectations based on Charles Dickens’ famous novel stars Jeremy Irvine as Pip, Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham, alongside Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng, Sally Hawkins, Tamzin Outhwaite, David Walliams and Holliday Grainger. The movie premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and has been picked up by Outsource Media Group for domestic distribution.

Richard Hartley has composed the score for Mike Newell’s upcoming film adaptation of Great Expectations. The film based on Charles Dickens’ famous novel stars Jeremy Irvine as the young orphan Pip who is given a chance to rise from his humble beginnings thanks to a mysterious benefactor. Helena Bonham Carter co-stars as Miss Havisham, alongside Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng, Sally Hawkins, Tamzin Outhwaite, David Walliams and Holliday Grainger. David Nicholls (One Day, Starter for 10) has adapted Dickens’ novel for the screen.
