Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

the-visitOpening in most theaters is the horror thriller The Visit written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, produced by Jason Blum and starring Kathryn Hahn, Deanna Dunagan, Peter McRobbie, Ed Oxenbould and Olivia DeJonge. The movie doesn’t feature an original score except for short piano track for the movie’s epilogue scene written by Paul Cantelon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, W.). the-perfect-guyAlso opening wide is the thriller The Perfect Guy directed by David M. Rosenthal and starring Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy, Morris Chestnut, Charles S. Dutton, Tess Harper, Kathryn Morris, Rutina Wesley and Holt McCallany. Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Chicago Fire) and Dave Fleming have composed the film’s original music. Madison Gate Record has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music today. ‘Bill’ Soundtrack Details

billVarese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the British comedy Bill. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrew Hewitt (The Double, The Stanford Prison Experiment, Submarine). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 18, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bill is directed by Richard Bracewell and stars Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. The movie tells the story of what really happened during Shakespeare’s ‘Lost Years’ and how hopeless lute player Bill Shakespeare leaves his family and home to follow his dream. ‘Mississippi Grind’ Soundtracks Announced

Both albums feature a collection of blues tracks inspired by the movie by artists including Big Bill Broonzy, Memphis Minnie, Joe Callicott, John Lee Hooker, Leo Welch, Memphis Slim, Odetta, Junior Kimbrough & more. Both albums will be released digitally on September 18 and physically on October 2. ‘American Ultra’ Soundtrack Details

The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Affair, Remember Me, Enough Said, Ray Donovan), as well as additional music by Paul Hartnoll (former member of the electronic music group Orbital). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015 by Varese Sarabande. American Ultra is directed by Nima Nourizadeh and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Topher Grace, Connie Britton, Tony Hale, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman and Walton Goggins. The movie follows a seemingly hapless and unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend is suddenly turned upside down when he finds out that he is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. The show is created by Sam Shaw and stars John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, William Petersen, Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Harry Lloyd, Katja Herbers, Christopher Denham, Michael Chernus, Harry Lloyd, Mamie Gummer and Griffin Dunne. wsaThe World Soundtrack Academy has announced the five nominees for this year’s Discovery of the Year Award, via which the organization rewards up-and-coming talent from the previous year. The winner will be announced at the 15th World Soundtrack Awards & Concert on October 24, 2015 in Ghent, Belgium and will get the opportunity to perform at the 16th World Soundtrack Awards next year. ‘Lamb’ Soundtrack Announced

lambTricatel will release a soundtrack album for the Ethiopian drama Lamb. The album features the film’s original music composed by Chassol (Dark Touch). The soundtrack will be released overseas on August 25, 2015. Lamb is written and directed by Yared Zeleke and stars Rediat Amare, Kidist Siyum, Welela Assefa, Surafel Teka, Rahel Teshome and Indris Mohamed. The movie follows a 9-year-old Ethiopian boy who risks all to save his only friend — his mother’s pet lamb – after her death. the-good-dinosaurJeff Danna has joined his brother Mychael Danna to co-score Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature The Good Dinosaur. The film is directed by Peter Sohn and features the voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jack Bright, Frances McDormand, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, Marcus Scribner, A.J. Buckley and Steve Zahn. The movie is set in a world where dinosaurs have never become extinct and follows a young dinosaur who loses himself after falling into a river, sweeping him far away from his home.
