into-the-badlandsPremiering tonight is the AMC original series Into the Badlands created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar and starring Daniel Wu, Marton Csokas, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Sarah Bolger and Orla Brady. The show’s original music is composed by David Shephard (Longmire). Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda has written the drama’s title theme. Premiering on Tuesday, November 17, is the new NBC drama Chicago Med created by Michael Brandt & Derek Haas and starring Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell, Torrey DeVitto and Rachel DiPillo. Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) who is also scoring NBC’s Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. is composing the show’s original music. ‘Cowboys’ Soundtrack Details

cowboysL’R Du Tresor will release a soundtrack album for the French drama Cowboys (Les Cowboys). The album features the film’s original music composed by singer/songwriter Raphaël (aka Raphaël Haroche). Also included are songs by Connie Francis and Patsy Cline. Cowboys is co-written and directed by Thomas Bidegain (screenwriter of A Prophet & Rust and Bone) and stars Francois Damiens, Finnegan Oldfield, Agathe Dronne, Ellora Torchia, John C. Reilly, Antonia Campbell-Hughes. The movie follows a French Wild West enthusiast who sets off on a journey to find his estranged daughter, who has run away and converted to Islam. Mick Giacchino Scoring Lifetime’s ‘Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow’

turkey-hollowMick Giacchino, son of Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Star Trek, Inside Out), has composed the music for the Lifetime original movie Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow. The film is directed by Kirk Thatcher (It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie) and stars Mary Steenburgen, Jay Harrington, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Graham Verchere and Genevieve Buechner. The movie follows a family who goes on a hunt for a Bigfoot-like creature called the Howling Hoodoo during a visit to the house of their kooky aunt. Christopher Baldi and Tim Burns (An American Werewolf in Paris) wrote the script based on a story by Jim Henson, Jerry Juhl and Thatcher.  Read the rest of this entry »

‘Cop Car’ Soundtrack Released

cop-carA soundtrack album has been released for the thriller Cop Car. The album features the film’s original music composed by Phil Mossman (Another Earth, Lola Versus, I Origins). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Cop Car is directed by Jon Watts (Marvel Studios’ upcoming Spider-Man reboot) and stars Kevin Bacon, Shea Whigham, Camryn Manheim, James Freedson-Jackson and Hays Wellford. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

love-the-coopersOpening in most theaters is the holiday comedy Love the Coopers directed by Jessie Nelson and starring Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei and Olivia Wilde. The film’s original score is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Paddington). Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Otis Redding, Sixpence None the Richer, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, as well as track from the score. the-33Also opening wide is the drama The 33 directed by Patricia Riggen and starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Gunton and Gabriel Byrne. James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man) has composed the film’s original music. The movie is also dedicated to the late composer. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring Horner’s score, as well as two songs by Cote de Pablo and Los Bunkers last week. ‘Burnt’ Soundtrack Details

The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (Foxcatcher, The Spectacular Now, (500) Days of Summer, The Age of Adaline). Also included are the songs from the film by Barnes Courtney, Autograf, RY X, The Avener & John Lee Hooker, as well as the original track Ode to a Sous Vide performed by the film’s star Bradley Cooper. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 4, 2015 and physically on December 18. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. 13-hoursLorne Balfe has been hired to score Michael Bay’s upcoming action drama 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. The film stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski and Max Martini. The movie centers on the six members of a security team who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi from an attack of Islamist militants on September 11, 2012 – the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.. Chuck Hogan (The Strain) has written the screenplay based on the book of the same title by Mitchell Zukoff. Bay is also producing the drama with Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow, Unbroken, Constantine). queen-of-the-southGiorgio Moroder revealed in a recent interview with Celluloid Tunes that he will be composing the music for the upcoming USA original series Queen of the South. The show is created by M.A. Fortin & Joshua John Miller (The Final Girls) and stars Alice Braga, Peter Gadiot, Carlos Gomez, Justina Machado and Joaquim de Almeida..
