Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jasha Klebe. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 11, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical release is set for February 12, 2016. Winter on Fire is directed by Evgeny Afineevsky and covers the unrest in Ukraine over 93 days in 2013 and 2014, as student demonstrations supporting European integration grew into a violent revolution calling for the resignation of President Viktor F. A number of major film composers will be participating at the 6th Annual Fans of Film Music event, which will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at The Bridge Recording Studio in Glendale, CA. This year’s panelists include Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven) who composed the music for this year’s hit sci-fi drama The Martian, Roque Banos (The Machinist, Evil Dead, Oldboy) who scored Ron Howard’s upcoming action adventure In the Heart of the Sea, Tom Holkenborg (Divergent, 300: Rise of an Empire) whose recent credits include Mad Max: Fury Road and Black Mass, as well as Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball) and Jeff Danna (The Boondock Saints, Tyrant) who recently co-scored Pixar’s latest feature The Good Dinosaur. ‘Saints & Strangers’ Soundtrack EP Released

Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack EP for the NatGeo event series Saints & Strangers. The EP features the 2-parter’s theme composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, The Lion King, Interstellar), as well as music from the series by Lorne Balfe (Terminator Genisys, Home, Penguins of Madagascar). Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the final installment in The Hunger Games series, Mockingjay: Part 2 directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (Maleficent, King Kong, The Sixth Sense, The Village). Republic Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally on Monday and physically the following week. Also opening wide is the comedy The Night Before directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie, Lizzy Caplan, Julian Bell, Mindy Kaling and Michael Shannon. Marco Beltrami (Scream, World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, Warm Bodies) and Miles Hankins have composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced. Theodore Shapiro & Ludwig Goransson to Score ‘Central Intelligence’

Theodore Shapiro and Ludwig Goransson are reteaming with director Rawson Marshall Thurber on the upcoming action comedy Central Intelligence. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Amy Ryan and Aaron Paul. The movie follows a former high school sports star-turned-accountant who is contacted by a classmate who was bullied and humiliated as a teen but is now a CIA contract killer and lures him into a world of espionage. Thurber has also written the screenplay with Ike Barenholtz & David Stassen (The Mindy Project). Scott Stuber (Role Models, Ted, Safe House) is producing the New Line Cinema production with Michael Fortell (Furious 7, Live Free or Die Hard) and Paul Young & Peter Principato (Married, Jessabelle). ‘The Lion Guard’ Soundtrack Announced

Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney Television Animation series The Lion Guard. The album features the opening song written and performed by Beau Black, as well as the songs performed by the series’ voice cast. Chris Willis is composing the show’s original score. The soundtrack will be released on January 8, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Lion Guard developed by Ford Riley continues the story of Disney’s animated classic The Lion King and features the voices of Rob Lowe, Gabrielle Union, James Earl Jones, Max Charles, Atticus Shaffer and Sarah Hyland. The show will centers on the second-born cub of Simba and Nala as he assumes the role of leader of the Lion Guard, a group of the bravest and brightest tasked with preserving the Pride Lands. ‘Creed’ Soundtrack Released

Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album for the boxing drama Creed. The album features the original songs from the film by the movie’s composer Ludwig Goransson, star Tessa Thompson, and hip-hop artists Sam Dew, Vince Staples, and Childish Gambino (Donald Glover), as well as the original track Last Breath by Future, which samples Bill Conti’s Gonna Fly Now from the Rocky series. Also included are tracks by Nas, The Roots feat. John Legend, White Dave, 2Pac & more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. As previously reported, a separate soundtrack featuring Goransson’s original score from the film has been released by WaterTower Music. Creed directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Republic Records will release a soundtrack album for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Newton Howard (King Kong, The Sixth Sense, The Fugitive, Maleficent, Signs) who previously scored the first three installments in the series. Bear McCreary has composed the music for the upcoming supernatural thriller The Forest. The film is directed by Jason Zada and stars Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. The movie is set in the legendary Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan and tells the story of a young American woman who goes in search of her twin sister who has mysteriously disappeared. Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca have written the screenplay based on a story by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel, Blade). Decca Records will release the official soundtrack album for Quentin Tarantino’s western The Hateful Eight. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Mission). Also included are the songs featured in the film, including The White Stripes’ Apple Blossom, David Hess’ Now You’re All Alone, Roy Orbison’s There Won’t Be Many Coming Home, as well as dialogue clips from the movie. The soundtrack will be released on December 18, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Hateful Eight is written and directed by Tarantino and stars Samuel L.
