David Julyan Scoring Xavier Gens’ ‘The Crucifixion’

David Julyan has recently recorded his score for the upcoming supernatural thriller The Crucifixion. The film is directed by Xavier Gens (Hitman, The Divide) and stars Sophie Cookson, Javier Botet, Alexis Rodney and Radu Andrei Micu. The movie is based on the true story of a priest who was convicted of murdering a nun after performing an exorcism on her. Chad and Carey Hayes (The Conjuring, The Reaping, House of Wax) have written the screenplay. Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King’s Speech, Godzilla, Fantastic Mr. Fox). The soundtrack will be released on July 8, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Secret Life of Pets is directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) & Yarrow Cheney and features the voices of Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. San Diego Symphony to Perform Michael Giacchino’s ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Score at Film’s World Premiere at Comic-Con

Paramount Pictures, Skydance, Bad Robot and director Justin Lin have announced that the San Diego Symphony Orchestra will perform the original score for the upcoming sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond at the film’s world premiere at Comic-Con International on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Embarcadero Marina Park South in San Diego. The film’s music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Inside Out, Jurassic World, The Incredibles) who previously scored J.J. Abrams’ 2009 reboot and its 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature The Angry Birds Movie directed by Fergal Reilly & Clay Kaytis and starring Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Kate McKinnon and Keegan-Michael Key. The film’s original music is composed by Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Smurfs). Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film, as well as a separate soundtrack featuring Pereira’s score. Also opening wide is the comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising directed by Nicholas Stoller and starring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Chloë Grace Moretz, Dave Franco, Ike Barinholtz, Carla Gallo, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kiersey Clemons and Beanie Feldstein. Michael Andrews (Bridesmaids, Donnie Darko, Bad Teacher, Funny People) who previously scored the 2014 original film has composed the film’s original score. ‘Almost Holy’ Soundtrack EP Released

Sacred Bones Records has released a soundtrack EP for the documentary Almost Holy. The EP features three tracks from the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (Gone Girl, The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli) & Bobby Krlic (Triple 9). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. Almost Holy centers on Gennadiy Mokhnenko, a controversial pastor who made a name for himself by forcibly removing homeless drug-addicted kids from the streets of Mariupol, Ukraine and housing them in his own self-styled rehab facility. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the first eight episodes of the show.
