Sacred Bones Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Almost Holy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli) & Bobby Krlic (Triple 9). The soundtrack will be released on vinyl on August 19, 2016 and will also be available digitally. The label has previously released an EP featuring three tracks from the score. Almost Holy is directed by Steve Hoover and centers on Gennadiy Mokhnenko, a controversial pastor who made a name for himself by forcibly removing homeless drug-addicted kids from the streets of Mariupol, Ukraine and housing them in his own self-styled rehab facility. The movie is set in 1922 amid the final days of the Ottoman Empire and centers on a love triangle in 1922 with a medical student, an American journalist based in Paris and a beautiful and sophisticated woman. The drama follows two detectives working together to find a serial killer who left the upper-half body of a French politician and the lower-half of a British prostitute in the Channel Tunnel.
