Christian Jacob and The Tierney Sutton Band are composing the original music for the upcoming drama Sully. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood (American Sniper, Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby) and stars Tom Hanks, Aaron Eckhart and Laura Linney. The movie tells the true story of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger who, in 2009, became a national hero in after he successfully executed an emergency water landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River. Todd Komarnicki (Perfect Stranger) has written the screenplay based on the book Highest Duty by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. BFD Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Cell. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Good Shepherd, The Affair, Enough Said, Ray Donovan, The Words, Remember Me). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 8, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Robert Duncan is set to score the upcoming NBC drama Timeless. The show is created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Revolution) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Visnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit. The series follows a scientist, a soldier and a history professor who are traveling through time to battle unknown criminals in order to protect history as we know it. BMI Continues to Support Sundance Institute’s Film Music Program

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) will continue its support for Sundance Institute’s Film Music Program, which collaborates with Skywalker Sound to host the Sundance Institute Music and Sound Design Labs at Skywalker Sound. The first 2016 session of the lab begins July 7 at Skywalker Ranch and provides an opportunity for composers and directors to explore the collaborative process of writing music for feature film and is a joint venture of the Institute’s Film Music Program and Feature Film Program. The second session of the Lab begins on July 22 and will focus on composing for documentaries and is a joint venture of the Film Music Program and Documentary Film Program. David Campbell has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming coming-of-age drama In Search of Fellini. The film is directed by Taron Lexton and stars Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub. The movie follows an Ohio girl who loves movies but dislikes reality who journeys to Italy in search of legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. Nancy Cartwright (best known as the voice of Bart Simpsons of The Simpsons) and Peter Kjenaas have written the screenplay. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced today that Jerry Goldsmith is among the class of 2017 honorees and was selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The composer who passed away in 2004 has received an Academy Award for The Omen and was Oscar-nominated several more times for such classic films as Planet of the Apes, Patton Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Poltergeist, Basic Instinct and L.A.
