Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales directed by Joachim Rønning & Espen Sandberg and starring Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites and Geoffrey Rush. The film’s original music is composed by Geoff Zanelli (Disturbia, Into the West, The Pacific, The Odd Life of Timothy Green). Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 crime drama State of Grace directed by Phil Joanou and starring Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, Robin Wright, Ed Harris, John Turturro, John C. Really, Burgess Meredith and Joe Vitarelli. The album features the complete original score from the MGM production composed, orchestrated and conducted by Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission, The Hateful Eight), including previously unreleased music. Also included is the content of the original soundtrack album on a second disc. The 2-CD set, which is limited to 1000 copies, is now available to order on the
Christopher Lennertz is set to reteam with director Tim Hill on the upcoming family comedy The War with Grandpa. The film stars Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Christopher Walken, Cheech Marin, Oakes Fegley, Jane Seymour and Faizon Love. The movie is based on the bestselling book by Robert Kimmel Smith and follows a boy who’s forced to move out of his room when his recently widowed grandfather moves in and devises outrageous pranks to make his grandfather surrender the room. Tom J. Astle & Matt Ember (Get Smart, Home) and Dave Johnson wrote the screenplay. 
Sony Masterworks will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi adventure War for the Planet of the Apes. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Incredibles, Lost) who previously scored 2014’s 
Dustin O’Halloran has been tapped to score the upcoming Sky Atlantic series Save Me. The show is created by actor Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Critical) who also stars in the drama alongside Suranne Jones and Stephen Graham. The 6-parter centers on a man who is falsely accused of a terrible crime and sets off to clear his name and find the real perpetrator. Nick Murphy (The Awakening, Blood, The Last Kingdom) is directing the show. Simon Heath (Line of Duty, United) and Jessica Sykes are executive producing the project. Save Me is expected to premiere later this year on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

Patrick Doyle has recently recorded his score for the upcoming animated feature The Emoji Movie. The film is directed by Tony Leondis and features the voices of T.J. Miller, Anna Faris, James Corden, Patrick Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Steven Wright, Rob Riggle, Jennifer Coolidge, Jake T. Austin, Sofia Vergara and Christina Aguilera. The movie revolves around a multi-expressional emoji who sets out on a journey to become a normal emoji. Leondis also co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Siegel and Mike White. Michelle Raimo Kouyate is producing the Sony Pictures Animation production. 
EuropaCorp will release the official soundtrack album for Luc Besson’s sci-fi action adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Godzilla, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King’s Speech) who recorded his music at Radio France Studio 104 with the National French Orchestra. Also included are original pop songs and existing famous songs as featured in the movie. The soundtrack will be released on July 21, 2017 and will be available for pre-order on
