Reel Gold Records will release the original song Just Getting Started from the HBO documentary If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast. The track is written by Academy Award winners Alan & Marilyn Bergman (Yentl, The Way We Were) and Dave Grusin (The Milagro Beanfield War, The Firm, On Golden Pond) and performed by Alan Bergman with Grusin & Band. The song will be released as a digital single on September 26, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label will also release the song Young at Heart performed by Dick Van Dyke from the film on the same day (click here to pre-order). If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast is produced and directed by Danny Gold and follows Carl Reiner as he tracks down several nonagenarians, including Mel Brooks, Dick Van Dyke, Norman Lear and Betty White who show that the later years can be the happiest and most rewarding. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the horror thriller It directed by Andrés Muschietti and starring Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Chosen Jacobs, Nicholas Hamilton and Bill Skarsgård. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (Annabelle: Creation, Hidden Figures, Blade Runner 2049, A Cure for Wellness). Also opening wide is the romantic comedy Home Again written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer and starring Reese Witherspoon, Pico Alexander, Nat Wolff, Jon Rudnitsky, Michael Sheen, Candice Bergen and Lake Bell. John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Abel Korzeniowski has been hired to score the upcoming horror thriller The Nun. The film is directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow) and stars Taissa Farmiga, Demián Bichir, Charlotte Hope, Bonnie Aarons, Jonas Bloquet and Ingrid Bisu. The movie is a spinoff of New Line Cinema’s hit franchise The Conjuring and follows a priest who is sent to Rome to investigate the mysterious death of a nun. Gary Dauberman (It, Annabelle) wrote the screenplay. James Wan (Furious 7, Insidious, Saw) and Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Buried) are producing the New Line production. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the western sequel Dead Again in Tombstone. The album features the film’s original music composed by the UK-based electronic music group Hybrid (Vice, Interlude in Prague, Catacombs, Billionaire Ransom) who previously scored the 2013 original film. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Dead Again in Tombstone is directed by Roel Reiné and stars Danny Trejo, Jake Busey, Elysia Rotaru, Dean McDermott, Elizabeth Lavender, Peter Skagen, Michelle Rios and Joe-Norman Shaw. RCA Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Get Down. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Elliott Wheeler (Restraint). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 8. The download link will be added to this article over night. The label has previously released two soundtracks for Part I and Part II of the drama featuring the songs from the series. The Get Down is created by Baz Luhrmann and stars Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits.
