La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2000 fantasy comedy How the Grinch Stole Christmas directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin and Molly Shannon. The album features the remastered and expanded original score from the Universal Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Apollo 13, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Field of Dreams, Glory, Aliens), including around 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. The CD, which is limited to 3,000 copies, will be available to order on the label’s official website at noon today and on Amazon within the next couple of days.

‘Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch’ Soundtrack Announced
Columbia Records has announced a soundtrack album for Illumination Entertainment’s animated feature Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch. The album features the songs from the movie, including the original song I Am the Grinch written and performed by Tyler, the Creator, as well as songs by Run-DMC, The Supremes, Jackie Wilson, Nat King Cole & more. Also included are two tracks from the movie’s original score composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Nightmare Before Christmas) who also collaborated with Tyler on a new version of You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, which is already available to download here. The soundtrack will be released on November 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
Illumination’s ‘The Grinch’ to Feature Original Song by Tyler, the Creator
Tyler, the Creator has written an original song for Illumination Entertainment’s animated feature The Grinch. The rapper/record producer is also performing the track, which is entitled I Am The Grinch. He also collaborated with the film’s composer Danny Elfman on a new version of the classic Grinch song You’re a Mean One. The Grinch is directed by Scott Mosier & Yarrow Cheney and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit.
