Fall Out Boy lead singer Patrick Stump (Gnome Alone, Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Merry Little Batman, Black Friday) is composing the original score for the upcoming documentary Billy Idol Should Be Dead. The film is directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Polar, Lords of Chaos) and centers on the titular punk legend turned pop sensation. The movie reveals his rise to fame, battle with addiction and triumphant comeback that captivated millions of fans worldwide. Åkerlund is also producing the project with Mark Monroe (Jim Henson: Idea Man, Lucy and Desi), Laurence Freedman, Violaine Etienne (Corazon), Orian Williams (Control, Sam & Kate), Ryan Kroft (Love, Lizzo), Jessica James Batista and China Chow.

Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Clark’ to Be Released
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the Swedish Netflix limited series Clark. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Mikael Åkerfeldt who is best known as the primary songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist of the metal band Opeth. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 5 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Physical versions are set to come out on July 22 and is available for pre-order here (CD version) and here (vinyl edition). Clark is co-written and directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Lords of Chaos) and stars Bill Skarsgård, Adam Lundgren, Sandra Ilar, Peter Viitanen, Vilhelm Blomgren, Hanna Björn, Alida Morberg, Isabelle Grill and Björn Gustafsson. The 6-parter tells the story of Swedish criminal Clark Olofsson who managed to escape prisons and committed robberies all over Europe, who has been referred to as a “celebrity gangster” and inspired the term “Stockholm syndrome.
Mikael Åkerfeldt to Compose Music for Netflix’s ‘Clark’
Netflix has announced today that songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt, lead vocalist and guitarist of the metal band Opeth, is set to compose the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Clark. The show is co-written and directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Lords of Chaos, Polar) and stars Bill Skarsgård as Swedish criminal Clark Olofsson who has been referred to as a “celebrity gangster” and has given rise to the concept of Stockholm syndrome, managed to escape prisons and committed robberies all over Europe. The 6-parter is based Olofsson’s autobiography Vafan var det som hände and will follow his early years until present day. Åkerlund and Skarsgård are also executive producing the Scandinavian Content Group production with Hans Engholm.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Polar’ to Be Released
A soundtrack album album has been announced for the Netflix original movie Polar. The album features the film’s original music composed by Deadmau5 who made his film scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 25 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Two tracks from the album are already available to download. Polar is directed by Jonas Akerlund (Lords of Chaos) and stars Mads Mikkelsen, Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick and Matt Lucas. The movie based on the Dark Horse action noir graphic novel Polar: Came From the Cold by Victor Santoson follows an assassin on the verge of retirement must put the good life on hold when his greedy boss sends a squad of young, ruthless killers to take him out.
Deadmau5 to Score Jonas Akerlund’s ‘Polar’
Electronic music artist/DJ Deadmau5 announced on Twitter today that he is making his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming Netflix original movie Polar. The film is directed by Jonas Akerlund (Lords of Chaos) and stars Mads Mikkelsen, Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick and Matt Lucas. The action thriller is based on the Dark Horse action noir graphic novel Polar: Came From the Cold by Victor Santoson and revolves around the world’s top assassin, Duncan Vizla, aka The Black Kaiser, who comes out of retirement to go head to head with an army of ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to have him silenced.
